Wow, this is an old thread. All I wish to add, as that if *all* of Chinese Medicine was obsolete, then all dim mak is obsolete, and all internal martial arts styles are as well. Much of what is known martially, wrt to how the body reacts to different strikes atc, stems from learnings from TCM. And much of what is known about TCM was learnt as a result of martial arts (dit dar etc).
There is obviously a lot that is obsolete, but then that is true for most things in life - technology, fighting, medicine, business etc. But some things do remain.
People do not box in barrels anymore*, but they still box.
