Hello,
I lift weights for a few hours (1-3) a day, every day now for 5 months now. I was wondering how many lb. should i stop at to make sure that none of my growth is "stunted" to any degree, since im 14 years old, 5ft 11in, still growing (i think....) Im doing 50 100-200 times the right way (hehe...) over an hour or 2 ....... but want to know if i can do more without having it hurting me in the future! and if i can do more.....how much more ?
Oh yea, and also.......ive heard many places that doing 10 lb 100 times is better then 100 lb 10 times (lifting). Is that thing true?
Bye - Thank you- Hope some one can help!

Second as far as stunting your growth it will happen when you start lifting heavy weight such as maxing out on your squat. Just don't do them. A quad machine should suffice. I would only lift about three times a week because when you work out everyday it does not give your body sufficient time to repair all the muscle fibers you just tore apart. Three times a week is more than enough and I would alternate your workouts every couple of weeks because this will keep your muscles from adapting and will keep them growing. Next lifitng 10lbs 100 times is just goin to get you tired. Bodybuilders will tell you to lift light and do a lot of reps slowly. Well bodybuilders really are a bunch of genetic freaks who could get by like that but I would take lessons from powerlifters. They will tell you to lift heavy with few reps at your normal pace. This will give you more strength and the muscle will come along with it. You may not look as pretty as a bodybuilder but when you are able to toss one of those pansies around easily it won't matter and the ladies will be taking note. As for endurance you will get that separately by doing some hard cardio. Never forget the cardio man!! All those big muscles won't serve no one if you can barely wipe your own butt and can't run farther than a block without gasping for air.
