You see, Adam, after you become enlightened you... hmm...
Enlightenment brings an appreciation of worldly pleasures without an attachment to them...Yeah, there you go! Non-attachment to the things of this world means you can take it or leave it, so when you can be impartial regarding these things you're safe to indulge in them without becoming attached to them, without having desires. But first you have to become enlightened. Right, right! Meditation and abstinence and celibacy and and clean living. No sex, drugs, rock&roll, no getting drunk in the tavern (or anywhere else). And meditation. Right! meditation. That's the ticket! Like a monk. Glad we had this chat!

[Whew! almost lost that one! You gotta watch everything you say around these kids nowadays!]

"I mean if I told you that some 60 year old grandmother saved her granddaughter who was trapped underneath a car by lifting the car by herself would you believe that? (if you haven't heard and known the facts behind it already -_- ) No, you'd probably tell me I was talking out of my ass. However the basics of the story are true (old lady saves someone close to her by lifting up a car) and later they were able to figure out how the old lady did it."

Has anyone heard of the term "urban myth"?

Whats the point of it being "possible"? Millions of people die in accidents each year. None of them developed super human strength. They just died.

One person didn't. And even they have been reported as being 1. a young mother, 2. a young father, 3. and old woman, etc. etc. etc. It hasn't happened.

Thai Bri, It really doesn't matter if you believe the grandma story because I don't have anyway of really proving it to you. Except for telling you that my teacher for my Excercise Physiology class stated he read so in a paper as a creative introduction to what we were going to learn that day. Which was about GTO receptors. That is fact, unless you're telling me that the whole class is a sham. So when you say "Whats the point of it being 'possible'? Millions of people die in accidents each year. None of them developed super human strength. They just died" I have to believe that you missed the point of my post. The grandmother/old lady didn't have super human strength nor did she obtain any. All that happened was that the many muscle fibers she and every human has but rarely uses was activated because of emotional stress. This means you and me could do the same thing; activate unused muscle fibers. Also the fact that millions die in car accidents what were you trying to say? Could you define "car accidents" like are all the millions of car accidents like the one described? I'm going to assume no, so not everyone can react to the emotional stress (even if they could the same results wouldn't necessarily happen) because some people just get T-Boned and die instantly.

Adrenalin! I need more adrenalin! Then I will have the superhuman strength I need to defeat my enemies.

No matter how you describe this mysteriously wonderful phenomenon, there is no arguin with the fact that it does not seem to happen for 99.99999999999999999999999% of the population when they need it. There is also no denying the fact that, whilst everyone has heard this story, no one can tell you where it is printed. It is an urban myth.

I DO think that adrenalin can enhance performance. It can dull pain and reduce inhibitions to the extent that you use what you have availablwe with more commitment. But not to the extent that Grandma Non-existent can lift a car.

Your class does, indeed, appear to be a sham.

Hi Emma. Come and join the row. Its great!

I suppose no one could tell me where the article is printed that is unless I actually asked my teacher but I believe he retired. However you're stating it a myth because I cannot provide evident proof, so I'm going to ask you to prove where your your statement of.

"there is no arguin with the fact that it does not seem to happen for 99.99999999999999999999999% of the population when they need it"

How do you know there weren't more cases? It seems pointless to refute me with information I'm assuming that you just made up.

I would like to repeat one last time that I don't care if you believe the story or not. So really, unless you're trying to pick mook points to argue with me over don't even bother looking for information on your statistic; I just felt I needed to point out something irritating about your reply. I totally agree with you on your thoughts about adrenaline because I've felt them before but you didn't say anything of the GTO receptors I mentioned. GTO receptors would explain any tremendous feats of strength in most strange cases. Please, I recommend you to research this organ and then start telling me my class was a sham.

Here's a link to start with and it's briefly summarized there.

Your becoming your own worst enemies, so come on lets just forget the whole thing people have different beliefs if we didn;t we would all be the same and noone would learn anything.

The definitive list of Uses of Ki.

                              1. Day dreaming.

Ki dreamers can let their mind wander and pretend that there are mysterious forces on the loose in the world. This helps them deal with their otherwise mundane lives. They take the "excitement" to an extra level, by pretending that these forces can be harnessed for the power of good, like some kid's cartoon.

                              2. Money making.

People with good business sense set themselves up as Ki experts. They get idiots to dress in pyjamas, wave their hands about a bit, and then convince themselves that they are learning how to fight. Of course, these Ki Masters lower themselves to western values, as they accept pot loads of lovely dosh in return for the fantasy.

                              3. Entertainment.

Laughing at 1 and 2 above.

                              Anyone got any more?
