i have done both styles and here is my thoughts.
both work. muay thai is easiler to learn and you"ll get in shape and learn to hit and be hit. wc takes longer to get and you need to have a fighters mindset. alot of wc schools cater to the public and teach technique with out trying to really crack each other. but if you try wc under a fighter you will be able to fight with it. it really is a personality thing, i don't feel comfortable fighting from the thai style, but wc fits better. for others it is obviously the other way. i find most people who post have no experience with the style they bash. and need to appreciate that just like everyone is different every style won't fit everyone. muay thai is great,but i can make wc work better for me.

I have experience in WC, from a 2nd generation Yip Man instructor. And I bash it.

It can give some tools that woulod be of use in a real go. But a complete style by itself? No way.

Mind you, in fairness, I don't think Thai is a complete style.

I have seen alot of older people study wing chun but with mui thai u really got be young and fit to learn it with wing chun you dont need to be young and fit to learn it.

I have seen wing chun guys break ribs and poke eyes out of kick boxers.

When I was living in Brixton, this small chinese guy poked this guys out then smashed his ribs up and he was a wing chun instructor and this big bouncer guy who got the shit kicked out of him was a kick boxer.

Firstly the link doesn't work. But I like to find out my evodence first hand, thanks. Having trained in both Thai and WC I think I have a clue which is best. Other evidence, like the fact that WC never wins anything in any real competition (except those secret ones of course, haw haw haw) also backs up the evidence.

But is BulletProofMonk thinks I'm wrong, then I must be. After all, he asks about Ninja's who can wave their hands about to kill people and Indonesians who can block bullets with their bodies. So he must be right.

Yeah, I saw them as well when i used to live in Brixton.

LOL! He learned muay thai before hand it says. He said he doubt he could have won without muay thai! Thanks for telling me to research that it was funny what i found. There was a interview with and this guy said you are a big hero to kung fu by beating all those thais. Then he said what are you talking about I learned muay thai and other forms of kick boxing and I beforehand and I doubt I could have won without it! Sorry Sherwinc that did not prove your point But it was still funny.
