The whole purpose of iron hand/iron palm it to condition the hand so there is less chance of it being injured in a combat situation. The one whose hand gets injured first is likely to loose the fight.

You should have a day of rest after impact conditioning. Meibukan Goju-Ryu does an hour of impact conditioning every class and met four times a week (m/w/f/sa) but no impact conditioning on Saturdays as you need time to recover.

              Dit-da-jow

If you are looking for Dit-Da-Jow go to Jadestarmartialarts.com i have been using it for years. They send you the raw herbs ready to mixed on your own 36 $ for a half gallon mix. Not bad stuff. Stay away from that pre mixed stuff you don`t know what you are getting.

                Dit Da Jow Herb Kit

Here is a link to a pre-assembled herb kit.All you have to do is add it to 1 gallon of vodka or other alcohol in a gallon glass jar.I usually let it sit in a dark place for several months before I use it.I have been using it for some time with excellent results.( http://ancientway.com/catalog/advanc...rds=dit+da+jow )

I read in an article (http://www.worldkungfu.com/ironpalm1.html) that you dont even need any dit da jow. Is this just a bunch of crap?
Also, how much jow should you use and how often?

                          Dit-Da-Jow

People won`t go out of there way to sell you jow if you don`t need it. Trust me there are better ways of making mony. So the answer is yes you do need it. My experence is that at one time i thought that way also so i stoped using jow beacause i was so tough i did`nt need that stuff. Well what happened was my time training the iron palm was starting to slow down. Everyday was to much and i started to skip to many days. well i started using jow again and put my ego in check and things got back to normal i still take off a day from time to time but my training is much better and much more dynamic. It works also as a bruise ointment one of my students messed up his heel and in two days he was back on his feet.

Conditioning the parts of the body is always bad. The long term effects are bad-no matter what medicinal applications. Take it from me. I have been training for 38 years-I feel it-worse. Conditioning as this was done in early decades when societies and the whole population did not have readily acccess to guns/weapons and law enforcement. Unless one is training to be a professional fighter, conditoning is not needed. Rely on other skills and practice for self defense.

This has got to be one of the funniest damned things I have ever read in my life, 4141. You're right. People probably wouldn't take my money for crappy products, ever. There are just better ways to make money than that.

Are you free later to give me more financial advice, maybe?
