Looks Like I get to Broker another Fight for Bri......hey ummm "GIMP" please show up to this I booked gyms and sold out events and Bri is left standing in teh ring to take a forfeit. Then I have to get in the ring and have 2 hours of exhibition NHB challenge matches just to keep the patrons from asking for thier money back...........OH and you think Bri would help since its his fight NOOOOOOOOO. He says "Sorry mate, I was here for one fight he didn't show I gonna drink a cold one and watch you get your ass kicked for 2 hours".

For the record, I have studied Wing Chun under Brian Desir for over 12 years. I've also studied Thai boxing for a solid 5 years (a lot of this was in Thailand), 2 yrs of Judo and my current training is Vale Tudo/BJJ with Brazilian Top Team under Ze Marcello.

Now personally I love Wing Chun and it has never failed me, for the 4 yrs I was Head Doorman in some of the pubs/clubs in Bedford, UK. I also have done Body guard work etc.

          ----------

Now my point to the above disclaimer - Emin would have got dusted by Royce when Royce was in his prime.

Wing Chun is an awesome system when taught from a fighters prespective (mind you Sifu Brian Desir applies/teaches Western Boxing movements/principles i.e. Body & feet, and all the pad work and sparring methods of Thai boxing (power punching/kicking) and of course FULL contact sparring, only protecting was your gum shield, and your partners gloves (8 oz).

BUT without proper grappling training, anti grappling techniques in WC are nothing but 'Arm Chair' theories.

I thank Royce for opening the 'Worlds' eyes that an awesome striking systems such as Thai boxing or Wing Chun (not that we have seen any decent WC fighter in NHB tournys, that FAT twat (can't remember he's name, but a shameful example of WC) in the 1st or 2nd UFC was so shit, my student of 1,5 yrs training would have finished him with ease) is not enough, and he proved this by beating the shit out of all the non-grapple trained fighters in NHB tournaments.

I mean just look at Bruce Lee, he had an open mind and realised just 1 system was not enough, hence looked for alternative methods for enhancing he's existing abilities (regardless of limited training in WC, he was the best WC fighter in my opinion.

E.G. Even though these are just movies, read the following :-

Way of the Dragon - he last fight with Chuck, he used grappling to beat him (Head lock, snapping the neck).

Game of Death - Abdul Kareem was beaten with grappling (Headlock, again crushing the neck).

Enter of the Dragon - 1st fight with Samo (Judo type throw, finshed with an armbar).

So as awesome as a Individual can be with 'Correct fighting' methods of WC, I simply would not solely rely on that, hence my interests in other 'reality' based training.

          But each to their own.

          Take care

PS - I have recently been appointed as the main 'Striking' instructor at the VT/BJJ club I train at, to train a handfull of the FULL contact competitors who are training for the NHB tourny's in the UK.

So yes WC works, BUT it does depend on your ability as a human being. It's not for everyone, and guess I was lucky to train under Brian Desir who comes from a heavyweight freestyle comp background, so appreciates proper fighting methods and applications.

Firstly you claim Wing Chun works, but simultaneously admit that you've added much from other arts to it. So it ain't Wing Chun.

And, for the record, those Bruce Lee fights were just pretend...... they were playing. It was't real.

Unlike Coronation Street, which is real as it is hiddden cameras in peoples homes. God job nobody in the street has ever tuned in! The Game would be up!

OK maybe I should have said some of Wing Chun 'Elements' have worked for me, I admit my way of executing techniques is in a non-traditional manner so OK I mix and use what I feel I'm comfortable with, my point about WC is that it can & does work but it's down to whether the practioner has enough understanding as not to expect fairy tale results.

For me as I stated I also trained in other systems I felt I can and have benefited from. I not preaching what ppl should learn etc, each to their own, I'm happy doing what works for me.

Besides, I train in Bletchey leisure centre, MK, have nothing to hide in pretence, if you think I chatting poo, you are welcome to train with us in Vale Tudo/BJJ and see for yourself.

Regarding Bruce's films, I clearly stated they are movies i.e. not real, I was emphaising (I thought quite clearly ) Bruce was not close minded and hence why he had 'highlighted' in his films striking alone is not enough.

all of this grappling techniques are all usefull in a finishing moves only..... you can't easily used this techniques in a primary or secondary attack, why?????? cause your opponent will not give his hands and feet to you freely.....

and the reason why Bruce Lee apply this techniqes as a finishing moves, and not primary or secondary.......

i suggest, sidekick is one of the first primary attack (successful or non-successful)......
secondary attack is the rapid combinations of short hand attacks......
then Grappling, the one that you mention follows as the finishing moves......

So what do you do if some one grabs you on you primary attack, is he going to do a finishing move on you? Is that like doing a fatality in mortal kombat

Good question: How does one rip off the flesh and muscle of their face, then blow a 5 foot flame out of your mouth that incinerates your opponent??

                    • Well if you have been doing Kung fu then after many years you can turn in to a dragon a bite of someones head. Come on SherwinC you are not always able to strike, grappling is some good to cops, andd bouncers where striking can cause them some trouble. and why don't you get off bruce lee's nuts

So, letme get this straight. You say Wing Chun works. And to prove it you want me to come down to your club where you do MMA and BJJ?

                        Duuuuurrrrrr

You exepted me to release your grab using my both hands????? no, no, no, instead of releasing the grab .... why not hit him on his head?????? that grab will finally realease immediately......

                          Note:
Even BruceLee, most of his opponent grabs him, he doesnt release the grab, instead, he always strike his opponent immediately and the opponents grab is then released.....

                          Note:
                          The best defense is Offence.....

                          Convinced??????

as i said before, primary attacks such as insteap sidekick (successful or not) secondary attack is the rapid punching to the opponent then stop only if the opponent is dead........

                            • what a ridiculous article. Cheung even claims to remember he did a "jut-sau", performed a "bil-sau" and so on. Bullshit! He and Boztepe made a poor display, but at least Boztepe wasn't a "master" at that time.... Now Cheung even tries to use the argument of "German barbaric methods against strangers"... That's ridiculous. Period.
And it's sad for the whole WC/WT community that some morons even proudly post this
