  • How would?..

    ...a CMA avoid the shoot?

We are just told to palm strike them in the head: I would like a few more answer's than that. Can any one help?

There must be more than one way.

I was thinking you could pull them down and so control where they landed to avoid you. Then hammer fist to the back of the head!!

like mma fighters do. if is it bad shoot(u can see it coming) use knee. shoot is very hard technique to block if is it done right(maybe few hits to head and when block goes up... then). The palm to head... no good... u must hit very hard...

I don't think it would be too hard to palm to the temple.

Keep your distance and control either the shoulders or the head.

Yeh..well the palm strike then become's a grab..to break the balance twice ...and maintain distance from the opponent to allow room for a "hammer fist". I would like to use this to pull them down where they are all ready happy to go but w/ my control.

"A good shoot is hard to defend against"..is what I was afraid of.

Does anyone else suggest alternative's!? (Don't drink alone ).

            C'mon...

Shift a small bit, and then lock his head.

                LOL

                I love all the theory!

If you want to defend a good shot, workout with good wrestlers. Defense begins before the shot.

I have practiced with wrestlers. I did competitive wrestling in late elementary and early highschool. I attended a couple of tournaments and won gold in my weight class at one. I also consider myself first and foremost a TCMA practicioner.

The problem with advice on technique online is that there are so many variables in any one encounter that narrowing it down to "the right one" is a fruitless activity.

Depending on the skill of the shoot and the targer: single leg, double leg, etc. Some tactics that my sifu teaches include: sidestep and strike; sprawl; standing choke; drop downward, pulling to the ground and fighting from guard, transitioning to a better position as soon as possible; pulling shooter down and across yourself so that you end up behind them on the ground, etc.

Look you little pissant. I was making a point that I am familliar with wrestling technique. As I also said:

I know that you have some stupid hate on for Chinese Martial Arts. Just shut the hell up about it because I don't care to hear from you any more.

You know it takes a pretty childish man to edit the out of a quote and replace it with a . Since you don't appear to ever have ANYTHING to contribute and obviously are just a poor example of net-fu I'm putting you on block. If you want to prove me wrong get someone else to PM me and I will provide directions for how to come and meet me in person.

I'm through wasting time with you bitch.
