Gong Fu, just out of curiosity, where are you originally from, as i remember you saying english wasnt your first language?

i am origonally from england i was born in london, but im mixed race, i learned english when i was young, but spoke spanish before, i have alot of races in me, my family is very mixed, mostly european origins, but go back 2 generations on my mothers side and i have middle eastern ancestors,

but my written english and spanish isnt that good, i wasnt that well educated with accademic type things,more in philosophies and fighting,

as i said before i have alot of roots all over the place, i stopped trying to figure out exactly what % of what i am years ago, i have family in murcia though,

spanish is a nice language easyer to learn than english,

Just wondering how many of you use open hand slaps as a regular part of your self defense training? I feel they are an essential tool for closing the gap and setting up elbows and throws. Sometimes the slaps can finish the fight for you if you land a couple solid ones. My slaps are also faster than my punches and less detectable according to people who i train with.

My instructor was always talking about that technique. He said it came from sumo wrestling.
