I aint Shaolin I probably could break a coconut...if i tried. Breaking requires learning the subtleties of the medium....I aint wastin time learning to beat up coconuts.

coconut breaking is the first level of iron palm and takes only 4 months of training...Ive seen 16yr old girls break them so im sure its possible, but ive also seen experts break their hands...i cant afford a broken hand just to test my palm...when i hit people they fall, thats why i train.

i dont do any breaking myself realy, the coconut wouldet damage my hand, and definately wouldent damage yours, you know what your doing, breakig the coconut like he did isnt hard, i will try breaking it long ways, hitting the top of the nut.

and maybe your not shaolin, but i would class you as a brother of the temple, you are as good as bieng shaolin apart from the buddhist beliefs, hey and boar you didnt post in my thread "stone lock training" (shi suo) and stone ball training, do you practise these methods? i dont want many people knowing of the training methods but i wanna know if you do the lock training with the rope stick and stone lock with the twisting motion?, (know what im talking about?) i personally think this is the best training in the world for your wrists and forearms and to a lesser extent grip, what do you think?.

          peace

I break coconuts all the time...as part of my mai tai practice. (yes, I MEAN mai tai. )

(use the back of a cleaver to hit it perpindicular to the seam) kapow...
crack it open, shave with a sharp knife or even scoop it with an ice cream scoop (really grind that shit) and put over sweet sticky rice. (khao neow gati)

              damn that's good.

and you say your not shaolin, you are the young forest farmer,

i havent ever done wooden ball i went straight onto shi qiu methods, with a 39 lb granite ball, now i use 60 lb, theres no need to use much more wieght than that i dont think, i was just enlightened on a type of iron training method that i didnt know of before, iron teeth i see it femonstrated to me at the temple in brixton, and it was good stuff, the guy was carrying a table in his mouth perfectly horizontal walking across the fist hall,

wouldent like him bitimg me thats for sure,

EDIT:: and yeah you can damage hands breaking, but a coconut wouldent take a full power strike to break, you could just hit it multiple times at a fraction of your full power, without even powering up,

                  peace

                      I think thast was ok.

The guy was honest and gave it a good bash even though it probably hurt him. I have broken a coconut, but it was on concrete block and with a hammerfist, I dont think I do it any other way. another thing to think of is that although that is powerfull, when do you have your head nailed to a tree, lol, the sting woulds be taken out by the fact your head would evd up on the other side of the guys garden. with a broken neck, not a broken skull. lol. Breaking is one of the funny things where, if you break it it is ok, so usually do it as hard as you can to bne sure, but the harder you hit it if it doesnt break then the more force transmitted back to your hand. I watch a karatea instructer(in my local town) performing a paving slab break, it was so minging!. His hand got shoved about 3" into his wrist, and his finger just went loose and floppy, if he had hit it a bit harder it might have broke, which would av saved his hand. I dont know about you, but if I shatterd my hand like that, I would never do it again.

Thats what I mean brother, Its totaly great when you get people who actualy know something and can make a valid point. I actualy have not for fear of breaking my fist. Ive done it with 1 tile, with a hole drilled on a string. The problem is that the contact speed needs to be highter to cancel the equal and opposite reaction. Not impossible, just hard. Good thinking ro.

maybe you can break "steal" but how about "steel" (laugh) you should spend more time keeping your damn mouth shut instead of flaming, maybe you'll actually learn something.

i was just about to post about this, you are speaking about air breaking right?. i do not break much atall, i do now and then but hardly ever, i will try breaking the coconut suspended from a rafter, or on top of a tall chinese candle holder, it would sit nicely in the top.

i doubt i can do it but i will give it a try who knows, if i can do it i will video tape it a second time and post on here, if i cant do it i will just post that i failed and broke my hand,

also while i was doing candle training i hit one by mistake (i had my eyes closed) and realised there good for breaking (it smashed). there hard but soft if you get me?. but again i dont break much i dont see the point, i break if im in a fight when it needs to be done, if i do break i never hit the thing hard atall, (when i hit the candle i hit it very hard but it was a mistake)

i have a new thread about candles im about to open in chinese section take a look,

                                peace.
