And just how would it be "properly" done? And have you ever done such a thing against an actual shot (not from some bum or some eyes-closed dojo diver) successfully?

I've already explained that I was a wrestler in school, and it's a technique that was taught to us. And yes, I've been both successful and unsuccessful using it.

Properly done you would have to move you legs back out of the way, get your hands between his guard and hook one or both of his arms. One arm to roll him and both arms to collapse his structure. At least in theory. Like I said, doesn't always work, especially against someone with lots of experience, but even when it doesn't it can still help to keep you on your feet.

Still not understanding your level of animosity, but to each his own, I guess.

What you saw in that vid was taught to you?

        I see.

Uh, no. His technique sucked. I'm sorry, I was certain that we had already established that as fact. Now your just being purposely obtuse.

Maybe the problem is what you are using as your example. How about a vid of what you are really talking about? Then we can compare and see if they are really the same thing.

Maybe you just suck at explaining yourself.

dont sweat jubaji, nothing is indefensable, except whatever technique jubaji employs...his skill is so great, no one can overcome wrestling when he uses it...the art of wrestling isnt unbeatable, jubaji is

Nah, that's not it. Purposely obtuse, yeah, that's it.

Oh, I'm not. I fully understand the futility of it all. I'm just bored.

Well... First of all, that was the most pathetic double-leg ever executed on the internet... The second was on another WC sight. I think these WC guys outta learn wrestling before they invent counters for them.

Secondly, the counter was pathetic as well. I would wager that it wouldn't work 99.99% of the time against even a weak double-leg (the double-leg in the vid, as poor as it was, would have worked had the guy grabbed behind the legs).

Polecat, if indeed you wrestled then you would know the basic defenses:
                        1. Block with hands, elbows or forearms
                        2. Sprawl
                        3. Wizzer

Others include the cross face, slide down or go behind. When you understand the principles of these movements, then you can use attacks in conjunction. For instance, blocking a shot and following up with a knee, etc...

                          Hi

Im luke im five and my dads Bruce Lee.

I would have just stood there, a wrestler would never expect no reaction.

Considering that I explained the sprawl combined with a block using the hands and hooking an elbow, I guess we're on the same page.

Against the takedown in this video, you could have simply stood there.
