I am stunned by your revelation, I thought every fat bar steward that I had met in pubs that had spent time as a 'bouncer' who derided martial arts as being for 'fairies' and posers when his granny could beat any blackbelt with her hands behind her back was relating to what they knew as real, not the fantasy created because of their own sadness.
