You called them "deadly" techniques not me. I said vital targets. Sorry to disappoint you but NO I have never killed anyone with these "deadly" techniques. I have injured a few with eye pokes and ear slaps to end the fight. And believe it or not they both were in grappling situations where they were on top of me. Holy crap, did kung fu really work in a grappling situation??? YES.

Of course its different on a live human. It's just like going from punching a heavy bag to a human. Do you notice a difference when YOU punch a bag vs. a human???

I've used some of these "dead" strikes and not pulled them in a real fight. And I use the term "deadly" only becuase you used it (in a sarcastic and smart ass way). I will continue to use these so called "deadly" strikes until they don't work for me. They haven't fail yet so I must be doing something right regardless of what you say. And you know which one of you I'm referring to.

No we don't practice those "deadly" strikes the same way mma guys practice there techniques. You couldn't with out seriously hurting your partner. I mean can you imagine if you struck your partner in the throat as hard as you could? When practicing on a partner we pull the strikes. We practice on sand bags, heavy bags, and on manicans(sp?). Now I know what your going to say....that when it comes time to use these strikes we're not going to actually hiot the attacker because we're used to pulling them. Well, some people might have a problem but I've never. I've used some of these "dead" strikes and not pulled them in a real fight. On another note, how does a boxing gym not teach "practical" self defense? they are taught to throw a proper punch, duck, block, etc etc. I believe that nothing beats a solid hit to the head and boxers are some of the best at that.

My thoughts exactly!, like seriously we try to explain this and we have fruit loops like garth who go absolutely mad trying to understand us.

If you want to bring eye gouging and other dirty tactics into the equation and argue that you do what you have to, then any joe blow who knows how to use a bottle or get a few mates together would be the best street fighter around.

Well thats just it, they dont relise that striking the eye's and groin etc arent hard at all and anyone can attack those area's, its getting into the right position to do so and getting the right timing that reqiures training, and thats what any martial art will teach you including the ones with a sport element.

like is it reeeeeealllly that hard for one of thse kung fu practitioners to think "well hey! I may actually miss that eye strike on this boxer, (considering he is used to dodging strikes to the head, and has done so many times within the ring which is a stressful scenario),
in which case I may be taking a right straight to my jaw which may just knock me out which means I would not be able to fight him anymore, I guess that means a boxer has just as much chance of beating me as I have of beating him"
