As for the location, as far as I know this year the conference is not being held in Australia. Last year's conference was held in Kuala Lumpur in honour of the late Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong. As far as I know the conference is in Quanzhou again this year.
    Thanks for your info.

Preliminary details indicate that the conference is being held in Quanzhou this year between 17th and 20th November, there may also be an additional event.
So, how can a club get recognised by the Federation & where can we get information? sorry for the so many questions, I`m just curious becuase i`m planing to participate.

In the events do they have san shou?

You would have to get in contact with the federation and give club/school details and they may invite you to attend the conference. What school are you from and where are you based? Does your master or any other members recieve any such details of events?

As far as I'm aware, there is only a taolu competition next year (2005).

you get those information via our very own ongpong. hes the secretary of the union and also a co-founder(im not sure). if your going to start a kuan there it should be recognozed since it will be a branch of Konghan as well.

it will be in australia this year...last year it was quanzhou in memory of yu daiyou, the celebrations are overdone...to our delight hehehe...malaysia was 2 years before. like 2002...

yentao: i dont know last time it was held here it was a long time ago.

It will not be in Australia this year - if it is then I will be very surprised since as far as I know we are the only NCK school in Australia affiliated with the international body and we have done nothing in the way of organisation. If it is in fact supposed to be in Australia, then I guess we'd better start organising .

AFAIK, Torsion is correct. The meeting this year should once again be in Quanzhou.

As for attendance, if your school is part of an existing member school, then you should probably receive an invitation via your master.

Who else is planning to go this year? I am trying to decide if I have the time or money to attend.

That would be a good idea. Becuase I need some information like, individualy as a team is it possible to participate? And is there any participation fee?

Here in North America there are many open tournament where in anybody can just sign up & choose which category they want to compete in. I would say in Vancouver area alone there must be about 2-3 martial tournaments every year. Then there`s Seattle too.

              • konghan: i think it will be by invitation...there are currently many recognized oraganizations/clubs worldwide but not all are active...
how about the participation fees? who shoulders them? the participant or the org which they belong?

If the conference is held in Australia, I would be more than happy to show you around my home town ... assuming it will be held in Sydney . However I am pretty sure that it is not being held here this year, or if it is then we have not been told. And if there is an expectation that we will organise it, then we have a bit of a problem

Try having a second tua to made same design put add a dragon & tiger design at the blade.

I llike kong han weapons better than what the ones that are being sold in martial art stores.

I like to get the same design of chiam be to ( horse cutting blade ), tua to, tan to, double sai & double short sword.
