I am not siding with pro/anti gun my point is that that assumption is that people in hi guncontrol areas do not have guns and that is simply not the case. I think the US there are other factors that speak to the volume of crime per state, so yes I will maintain what H2H stated as spurious (now that does not mean it is not an aspect of teh problem)

Dude, it is not about large words, you were talking statistics and I am talking statistics, simple. Again, I am not really agreeing opr disagreing with the points but stats can be used boths ways and there are always variables that are not considered. So my point is you can lower the gun control and you would still have high crime rate (probably with an modest decrease) in the states mentioned with a possible increase homicide which may not be related to SD. Guns are not the problem, they are just the most visible.

If bad guys are gonna have guns shouldn't I be allowed to defend against them! Furthermore, cigarettes kill far more than firearms crime (or all crime combined nationally) yet have no up side to them (they don't feed you, protect you, ect.) so why not control them! (and i'm a smoker)!

I think one thing people need to realize who a) are not from the states, or b) have not been outside their nice little hippie shack where everything is just "weed-and-gummy-bears" is that there are very trashy ghetto's here that do not exist in many of our Europeans counterparts' countries to the extent that they do here. Our so called "diversity" is the first problem creating minority slums where the way of the "gram and the gun" is the only way these morons know how to make money. Now, just like someone said in this thread, criminals do not obey the law!! In places like LA where there is a constant flow of illegal mexicans, who constitute (this is a fact!) 95% of the warrants for murder in LA. Of course it's not huge in the media, cuz they dont' wanna upset the poor "latino" community, but it is the truth. These people will get guns and kill no matter where they are. If we were to transfer them to the UK and put them in a neighborhood, they would do the exact same thing there!! It is not the government policy on guns (crimnals don't obey the law) it is the people, and there are parts of the US, like parts of LA (Compton, watts,etc) and NY as well as other cities accross the country that are total shit holes with trashy ass peices of slime who think it's cool to be ghetto-fabulous and will always be the same people, as long as the hippies ad the media try to make excuses from them. They make up the HUGE portion of our gun crime in the US, and people should be able to discern that. In conclusion, I would like to add that in order to make our streets safer, we shoudl eliminate gun CONTROL and enforce a strict HIPPIE CONTROL law that would prohibit the hippie morons from encouraging and making excuses for the ghetto morons, further escalating the problem.

Hippies suck ass just as much as point-sparring and ghetto-trash! Guns kick ass and are our only guarantee of freedom and a government that works for the people. Without guns, we have no control over the government in communist-like situations.

If its life or death u have to act

a way to train if any is get a friend, a water gun and practice certain situations, there is no way to know what is going to happen but if you really want to be as prepared as possible practice arm locks, disabling moves, breaks, etc...

You could have your friend fill up a hand held water gun replica of a possible real gun and have them point a gun at you, then put yourself in a typical street situation with the gun pointing at you, ( close distance) and experiment with different techiques, to make it more realistic have them squirt you with the water everytime they see your move, and keep practicing until you might be good enough to not get squirted adn get the gun disabled

*Note* practice with someone trained in martial arts, and start slowly, and finally have a martial arts instructor view and make sure no one gets hurt.
