As far as Chi goes, yes it is a usable martial resource. However, I don't believe that it can be manipulated without physical contact. Due to family feuds, and marketing strategies, amongst the myriad of other ego based reasons, Chi has been so altered and dilluted that it is hard for any mew student to fathom. As far as Iron Shirt goes, I have been to several demos, and seminars that spoke of such Chi control. I also have met, and trained with some students of Iron Shirt, as it was taught to them within some other Chinese system. To date no one that I have asked has ever let me jam my finger into their eye, so as far as full body protection goes, it must be lacking, or it is misunderstood, or misrepresented. Either way I'm sure it will be a topic of discussion for many, many moons.

Sorry but Ki/Chi etc is purely psychological. Using it to influence the REAL world is total bullshit.

totally not true. and that was an ignorant statement.
but im just saying that cuz u've probably only done external arts. which is fine. but plz don't say anything about an internal art ir chi/ki/reiki/qi if u don't know anything about it.

It has been for a long time, the practice of western thinking to dismiss or fear a knowledge that seems to be beyond understanding. It is quite obvious that with very little practice one can feel the presence of Chi, or gain an insight to how it feels within the body. I contend that this is physiological, and not pychological. Although the chinese may word things slightly more romantically than westerners, after careful study one can begin to see the parallels and understand chi, and its defense usefulness. The chinese may say chi vessels and meridians, whereas westerners would say neuro-transmitters, or vascular cavities. Strip away the mysticism, and there is still a realistic, and controlable energy, that is cultivated through enriching the blood with oxygen, and heightening mental concentration. It is this practice, which internal artists are familiar with, that is chi. In all honesty I dont know if anyone can manipulate anothers chi without contact, but I would go as far to say if they are out of range, then why would you need to. Also I would place some blame on youthful inexperienced teachers, that fill young minds with stories of unattainable goals, and supernatural powers. Misusing any technique or application for personal or financial gain is ludicrous and those who do, are cowards. There is a great deal of martial knowledge out there, and our energy is far better spent, seeking it out for ourselves, than circling our wagons around non facts and misnomers.

go watch some more bruce lee films and reading illogical, undocumented and unproven eastern psychobabble.

we live in a world of science, and isn't it just so convenient how these amazing masters of chi never show them selves

Ignorance is convincing yourself something is true because you want it to be. Ie believing in 'chi'.

Sure, things like chi, feng shui and all that crap are fascinating to listen about, but if they have any basis or effect at all, they're purely psychological. Ie. if you can convince yourself you have 'energy' flowing through your fist you might punch harder. But ultimately, it all comes down to psychology

Until you show me an .mpeg of someone stopping someone with their bare hands, it's rubbish.

this 'scrolls' stuff and 'passing it down to only 4 people' stuff is pure MOVIE STUFF!

Welcome back to the real world. And try stopping a mugger with 'chi'. lol

                    fair enough lol.

seriously I don't mean to offend anyone, but until these mysterious chi masters step out and refute hundreds of years of scientific study and development I'll dismiss it.

I mean, if you gave a theory like, 'they move their hands so fast it pushes air out at 100ph' I'd be more inclined to believe it, because I'm sure some of those guys trained to stupidly high speeds/strengths, but not chi.

although not a believer that just anyone can go out - learn tai chi for a couple of years n be a chi master....

Maybe some of you guys should look into Zero Point Energy and its implications.

Currently it is thought that this may have something to do with chi and many many other strange phenomina such as remote viewing, telepathy, remote healing, etc etc.

this is an excellent book on the subject but we are talking quantum physics here boys n girls - and i know that some of you have trouble with big words!

                      cheers

Its ok just a misunderstanding. Its like this i cant prove that love or hate exist or not but i know that they do.There are a lot of things in this world that we either cant or dont want to understand.People need to have an open mind because with a closed one it is imposinle to learn anything.
