WRESTLERS dont't elbow you in the spine or punch you in the kidney's while your taking the shot. Wrestlers don't knee you in the head or FACE on the way in.

I'm afraid I have to question your wrestling experience once again (I don't want to - you've grown on me , but I feel I must). You really should know that a competantly set-up and timed shot in legitimate shooting range is going to happen far too quickly for any knee to the head or elbow to the spine BS. And if you've never had anyone work a front headlock as hard as they possibly could (with and without an arm), or gotten into a scrap in and out of practice settings, then I don't know what the hell you were doing for the 6 years you say that you wrestled. Are you sure you didn't wander into the swim team and nobody had the heart to tell you?

And who, oh who, would be better equipped to react to a shot than another wrestler? Hardly the point you were trying to make I think.

Ok, this is about the most unreasonable thing you've said so far on this thread.

Seriously man, is there lead paint in your house or something?

Overlooking for a moment your proclivity for taking isolated anecdotes and drawing impossibly broad and sweeping conclusions, you are a perfect example of this:

          "So, here's a question:

Have you noticed that you never hear a boxer or a wrestler or such say things like "My boxing works" or "In such and such situation I'm confident my boxing will win"? In the event there are hostilities, you are likely to hear "I'll kick your ass, *@#$^%" if anything. Later, you are unlikely to hear the same person say "I got into a confrontation today and I'm glad to say that my boxing worked", or "I used my boxing successfully". However, substitute the name of many MAs, and almost any TMA, and I'm sure you've all heard people say (or type) such things.

Why do you suppose that is?

I'm not drawing any conclusions or disparaging anyone or anything, just putting it out there for discussion."

and yet boarspear gets a clip saying how an old fat chinese "martial artist" kicked 3 guys asses at once....all i saw was a bunch of little chinese guys with weapons swing at air while the chinese "master" kept his distance and just pushed the guys away.....im sure it must take hunderds of years to master those techniques.

HAHAHA every thread has a fat head wrestler or mma guy running his mouth...See the dead wrestler in the mcdonalds parking lot for proof he was wrong...he was armed and had 110 lb weight advantage...it still wasnt enough

how is it illogical to conclude that the wrestlers skills which he was using on video were insufficient to win a strret fight, even though he outweighed his opponet by 110 lbs? The wrestler brought the mag light to the fight, he attacked the smaller soldier...he also picked the little guy up and slammed him several times...and oh yeah, he also lost the fight ...and his life.

BTW jubaji i love how you link to your own little thread

Great attitude several of the attackers were hospitalized....

I would LOVE to see a 45 yr old gracie take on 3 armed guys at once
you crack me up...some musclehead competes in the ring and you wanna have his children...a real fight in the street is over your head....if he closed with 3 armed guys, one might have grabbed him ...idiot...so yes he maintained distance and struck when he needed to....

you are unreal...ANOTHER ring nut dies in a street fight (although he had 110 lb wt advantage and was armed...lol)...and all you can do is make fun of the CMA guy who wins while empty handed and outnumbered....

Wrestling is done on the mat...but before mma wrestlers didnt even attempt to claim they were superior to TMA for street self defense...(catch wrestling is a different story...... and style.) That being the case, yes i generalized when i said the ring...

if you dont think slaps can put you in the hospital, you really dont understand CMA... and when is your sister gonna fight in the UFC?

yes he took a MAGLIGHT from a wrestler who outweighed him by 110 lbs...you wanna try that with your life on the line? ...i dont outweigh you by 110 lbs you wanna bet your life you can take it from me before i kill you with it? remember the little guy was unarmed (except for his skills )

you assumed i didnt know weapons at first didnt you? youre still making assumptions... BTW to think i can handle knives but dont know how to use my body is sorta silly...i have never met a talented blade man who didnt have an extensive martial arts background...

you know, im also wondering why boarspear is always trying to justify traditional martial arts to himself and us, yet talks negatively about other disciplines. are u just really insecure or what? i think the mma and bjj especially make him insecure . he talks bad about bjj, wrestling, and mma but he must look at these arts in envy if they make him feel insecure enough to have to try to justify the arts he trains in to himself. he talks about how mma and bjj people talk shit about other arts, but he does the exact same thing he accuses others of doing.
