I dunno dude but last time i checked Vus rat fighting system was a systematic approach to straightblasting the guy and finishing him as quick as possible....but last time i checkled Vu didnt use any chinese martial arts....he used boxing...muay thai...savate...bjj...kino mutati.....and many other "sport" styles ....the only art that he uses thats somewhat traditional is kali which i train from time to time dude.

well you must suck at fighting because i can counter those things with ease..its hard against against someone who knows how to fight...not against some street punk dude.O and dude you ever seen Pride kicks and stops are LEGAL on the ground.....fighters counter them with ease...while others such as wanderli silva have them down to a science.

Well i might aswell put my 2 cents in. What I was tought in the army if some dude goes for a leg or double leg shot you bring your elbows down into his back and put your knee through his face

Awarness is the most important thing in those situations...if some one came up to me id make sure i watch where his hands are and what his body language is telling me...if i see even a slight motion towards the lower waist or anywhere else a weapon can be concealed ill make sure to get out of this situation as soon as i can.I dont train for the street....its a waste of time for me...the life i live enables me to not have to worry about being shanked...i train for comp and fun and to stay in shape....i lead a good life so i dun even need to worry in the near 20 years ive been alive no one remotely came close to pullin a knife out on me so i must be doing something right.

I've been watching this discussion all afternoon and I guess I'll go ahead and give the horse's corpse a few more kicks just for the hell of it. I wrestled from the time I was 12-18 and I loved every minute of it, and I like watching a good fight on TV as much as anyone else so please don't anyone take my comments as a personal attack. However, I will say that the fact that there are so many illegal techniques in the ring def. changes the way people fight. In Tiger/Crane kung fu we spend A LOT of time on eye gouges. We spend about as much time on setting up and executing strikes to the eyes as we did practicing taking shots when I was a wrestler. If you're only prepared for the conventional punches and kicks you find in sport fighting you're never going see it coming, especially since an eye gouge doesn't need nearly the power of a punch so it can be thrown much faster and from angles a boxer would never consider. You can ask "well, how many people have you hit in the eye?" and I have to admit that I've only practiced it in class and simulated sparring, but is it so hard to believe that someone who practices might make a small adjustment to a punch and hit the eye instead? That's just one way in which the ring changes the fight. Personally I live in the middle of Atlanta, which if I'm not mistaken is currently the 7th most dangerous place to live (according to crime statistics) in the country. That tells me that I'd better be ready to protect myself because violent crimes happen every day.

OOPs i used you in the wrong place...sorry, you dont bash the TMAs but you arent the only voice on here...i dont disrespect the art...i throw the bullshit flag when someone claims ring arts best for the street...that turns into flame wars because people cant be realistic with their pride on the line...instead we get MMA is BETTER attitudes....

i wrestle/box and do groundwork, i also practice caporeria...i dont use it in street fights either...

and i didnt you were wrong to post in the japanese forums i said its wrong to be a MMA proponet in the middle of them. i dont talk shit about knife fighting in the CMA forums do I? And i dont promote the CMA's in the FMA threads...

the ONLY thing i ever say is that wrestling/BJJ/GJJ/boxing/MMA is not the best bet for self defense. Neither is any other art...Weapons and weapon training work best...those come from Traditional Martial arts...not the ring..the ring doesnt even address those subjects except to say they are illegal.
