are there diffrent types of judo?

There are different opinions about what Judo IS... There are different applications for various situations and an abundance of techniques but it's all Judo. Some folks play it in the Olympic games and others use it for their job or personal security.

Judo is made up of MANY techniques. Throwing is only part of the game but it's the most popular part. Newaza or matwork has been stormed by the Gracie family style and continues to grow in popularity. They emphasize different aspects of the game but it's all Judo to me.
