Bruce is more famous now than he was when he was alive. He was an entertaining fellow who was very knowledgeable and very good at what he did. People may wonder just how good a martial artist Bruce Lee was. Well, as I said earlier. he was the best of his time. Also, many of his former students are doing very well today. That's a sign that he was a good martial artist and that he was able to make his students into good martial artists.

Gene talks about picking Lee up, but it's obvious it was in play and Bruce didn't do a thing about it... it was all in fun.

What and where is your source of info .It would be good to clear that up! What else does Gene Labell say about Bruce Lee?That would end alot of arguments if Gene Labell said that he thought Bruce Lee would or could of beat him.

Where does it say that Bruce Lee was the best? Really a good web site though (Gene Labells). Maybe you can ask Mr. Labell to elaborate about how good Bruce Lee would have been in a fight . He does say that Dan Inosanto is even better than Mr. Lee

Of course Dan is better than Bruce. He had 30 more years to practice and make himself better. Remember what we read by the man who started this forum, when Bruce Lee and Dan met they dicided to spar and Bruce told Dan to use all of his empty hand tecniques and Bruce would only use his jab. Bruce won, Dan became a student.

And was it you Thai Bri who was supposed to tell us the names of the guys the Gracies beat in street fights in Rio? We're waiting.

There is quite a bit on who the Gracie's fought, particularly Helio. Sure, a lot of it could be heresay, but its not like a big secret that Helio fought people. There are many witnesses to most of his fights. If I could read Portugese I'm sure I could find plenty of eyewitness accounts. It sort of helps that some of these fights were recorded and pictures exist.

As for Bruce, one fact stands--there have been many Bruce biographers and biographies. No one, to the best of my knowledge, has ever verified the identity of anyone Bruce fought besides Wong Man. You'd think that if all these people witnessed Bruce fight they'd at least once in a while would have caught the name of the guy Bruce was fighting. All that is verified is Wong Man. And of the non-neutral witnesses that have been interviewed (that is, not Bruce, Linda, or Wong Man), the account was basically that the fight lasted around 15 or 20 minutes and was a draw.

Three days ago you were begging the mods to delete your account because you didn't have enough self-restraint to keep yourself off these boards. Now you come back looking to pick more fights with people.

The guy was a great martial artist, a below average actor and was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. He said "absorb what is useful" about 50 years after W.E. Fairburn did it (and even he probably wasn't the first by a long way).

The Gracies were not afraid to challenge other styles and put their reputations on the line. Helio fought a Judo Master in Kimura (not to mention he fought a man who was a decade younger than him and outweighed him by 30 kilos (66lbs))

Royce fought many styles in his UFC days including Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn, Rickson has defeated many including Yoshinori Nishi ect. The point is that instead of saying "I can do it, I won't but i will say i can" they went out and put thier money where their mouth was.

I am saying that the skill level is low when it comes to throws in the Ultimate fighting championships. That the Gracies won at first because their skill level was higher than everyone else's. Now 40 some uFC'S LATER EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO AND WHAT TO EXPECT ARM BARS, CHOKES ETC.It is basic judo 101 even old fashioned judo (classical) Get some real good judo players in there and they will dominate if they play by judo rules Same with boxing wrestling. blah blah blah. anyway, I just wanted to correct the great sage.. many karate and tkd-clubs infact use concrete walls, trees and so on to condition shins, knuckles, palms.. and so on.. if it is wise is so, but it do happen!

You ever heard of coasting or maybe having the opponent take your weight? How about laying on their chest to restrict their breathing?It would be comprable to a boxer punching themselves out. If the Gracies practice for the long haul and their opponents are used to fighting all out for maybe 5 minute rounds (which is a real long time in an actual fight) then who do you think is going to win?You train for the event. Its called strategy.
Its just like in a real fight ( combat ) you go all out. you do it to them instead of them doing it to you.Or like Ali with the rope a dope.
