I am 16 years old and have been doing jiu-jitsu for about 5-6 months now. I have been stronger and probably always will be stronger than a guy in our class who weighs <140 pounds. I weight about 190 and bench about 275 (not much, but definitely more than the under 140 pound guy). After 6 months, I have gotten to the point where I can beat him for about 5 minutes.... but I still get tapped.
That's the beauty of good martial arts, it teaches you to use YOUR strengths to defeat YOUR opponents weaknesses. There is always a bigger fish in the sea.... but that still leaves the question of who is the smarter? If you can outsmart your opponent, you've won. I guess one day, Helio Gracie or someone decided that they could use somebody's own shoulder to choke them, and voila, you've got the triangle, lol. Judo and Jiu-jitsu guys are world-class scientists at anatomy and physics!
