A person who is said to be proficient in the arts is like a fool. Because of his foolishness in concerning himself with just one thing, he thinks of nothing else and thus becomes proficient. - Hagarkure
tell you what. choose one tournament. urcc or fearless or mano-mano. choose a style you'd like to fight. give me your weight class and your contact no. will talk to the organisers and pay for your ticket and accomodations.
honestly, i've never heard a fighter talk so much smack in my life.
no. was it a fight? a real honest to goodness fight? who is this boxer?
it is not a fight, it is only a hard sparring...... no referree breaks, no rules, no fouls, no 12rounds, no disqualification of illegal blows......
cause non-commercialized kungfu never joined in a commerciliazed match of boxing........
i only know thier family names, but i cant say in public..... most of them are my classmates during colleges....
some of thier boxing matches, i am there sitting at the third row below the ring watching and wondering about thier technique.... its all HUMAN DUMMY
meaning "they only block the opponents punch with their own head or body to block the opponents punch, that is what we called HUMAN DUMMY.....
its all a commercialized match for a commercialized martial arts
i saw a urcc yesterday at solar sports channel and that fights is all commercialized also, that is not a true fight...... its a far from reality, meaning another form of commercialized match...... non-commercialized kungfu never join it....

in boxing, that 1person cannot defeat those 3 opponents, why?????
cause it takes at least 12 rounds for you to defeat only 1 opponent, how about if your opponent is 3 of them?????
then 3 opponents x 12 rounds = 36 rounds
the fight will reach up to 36 rounds before you can finish those 3 opponents of yours while you are only one......
western boxing is stupid!!!!!!!!
Stupid? I don't think it's stupid. True it may not take as many years of practice to become efficient in it... but it still takes a certain devotion....
Would you fight 3 proficient fighters in your given martial art? I've been boxing for 4 years and all i can say is i wouldn't. Under no circumstances...
And i mean come on.... in a real fight situation, would you really want to fight 3 opponents? I can't think of anyone but a psycho who would.
Sherwinc there is a challenge called the Gracie challenge in which the Gracie family fights people using there bjj. You could request a closed doors match with them and they will accept a no-rules match. How about you do it or your instructor and prove how effective kung fu is.
Street fighting? The one major problem with the martial arts I've seen is that they're too forgiving. Maybe that's just the practitioners..... but they're just not brutal enough. Like a few weeks ago i was walking to my friends house at around 1 or 2. Dark road... pretty creepy. When i see these three guys walking towards me. I just thought they were walking the other way. Boy was i wrong. Well oone came up and asked for a smoke... so i gave him one... then just started talking... obviously drunk.... and i knew something was gonna go down.... and all of a sudden all casually he started to reach behind is back....
And well... hate to say it... I was outnumbered... so i just full on toe kicked him in the nuts.... then rushed his 2 friends... they didn't know what hit them...
Now... i don't really know if that was honorable or anything... but there was no way i could outrun them,.... and 3 on 1... don't like those odds for anyone....
My point is call fighting whatever you like... the guy who's willing to do whatever it takes will most of the time will win....
In a street situation it is survival of the strongest & fittest. I grew up in a third world country mainly in Manila. Quipo, Tondo, Paco , Ongpin & Caloocan area. Chances of encountering muggers in those areas are high. And in my training we were taught to always be on our guard. Know were we are, be aware of our surroundings & most of all be aware of approaching strangers.
The use of excessive force is necessary, be fierce & strike first ask question later.
When approached, be prepared don`t allow a stranger to put their arm around you ( chances are they`ll poke a knife at your side ), keep them at least 1 1/2 arms length, if they try to get close let them know you are ready for them. Keep eye contact (side eye) on the guy that is at your blind side ( usually at the back or side ). Act immidiately against any sudden movement towards you.
Me I had confident in my skills against street muggers. If you are not confident run. I don`t like running much becuase if I run out of breath I`m a dead meat I choose to save my breath on "killing them ( figure of speech)". Thats` why I train hard make sure that I`ll be able to knock my attackers down.
Street muggers or thugs are like wild dogs the more you show fear or run from them the more they`ll chase you down.
In one instance, I had three guys following me at Quipo bridge at around 9:00 pm. I immidiately felt or sense that, this is no good at first I tried to loose them by walking near the street inorder to discourage them because there are cars passing by. It didnt work as soon I was nearing the pedestrian underpass, they made their move. One guy tried to wrap his arm around me, the other guy tried to box me in, while the third guy went in fron of me.
Instinctively I parry the arm away side step push him infront me & he bump into his other buddy who was in front of me. And the other guy who tried to box me in suddenly luanch something at me, it didn`t hit becuse I was able to parry his hand & also push him infront of me. So now I have three of them in front of me & somehow I must have push them hard becuase they all ended up about 5-6 feet away from me. Then I went into a fighting stance & with an angry & authoritative voice I ask them "what do you want!" .
One guy was encouraging, I believe must be the leader of that group to attack me with his knife, " bilis saksakin mo " ( hurry stab him). The guy with the knife knew that I heard what they were saying & he was looking at me hesitant to attack & I was giving him this deadly stare while at a fighting stance waiting for him to make his move. We were 5 feet apart & I was ready to hit him hard once he gets close enough to my range. But then the third guy took off. As soon as the guy with the knife saw one of his freinds took off he dicided to take off as well. The third guy I can tell really want to take me he stood there for awhile until he to go too because two of his freinds decided to retreat.
I had about 3 incidents with muggers were in It took only a deadly stare "eye power" & a fierce looking fighting form & physique to intimidate them to back off.
But that was 27 yrs ago, now that I`m in Canada its a bit different. We must watch ourselves against the use of excessive force. The use of deadly or excessive force here in Canada is not being encourage or allowed.
Why do boxers fight so long and not knock each other out? A couple reasons:
1. They are wearing gloves, which soften to blows a little and keep the knuckles from cutting.
2. They are both well conditioned and mentally prepared for the match.
Plus, just because you hit someone more times, doesn't mean you've beaten them. I can get people all day long with my dash/backfist, but I know it wouldn't stop a trained fighter or even someone who's bigger than me.

Very true, especially Tondo and Caloocan.... but nowadays you can get mugged nearly everywhere in Manila, even Makati...
1. Any power that can be abused will be abused
2. Abuse always expands to fill the limits of resistance to it.
3. If people don't resist the abuses of others, they will have no one to resist the abuses of themselves, and tyranny will prevail.

Very true, it all boils down to proper conditioning & training. Some boxers espacially those champions are well conditioned they can easily knock an amature boxer or any amature martial art fighter.
I myself have spar & fought in the ring against good rated boxers who have knock out several of their opponents with just one right hook.
I can tell you to get hit with a boxers` right hook really hurts, it hurts differently from being hit by an amature puncher. You can feel your brain "shake". When I got hit I thought my brain got dislocated. It`s a good thing I had strong horse stance that help me stayed up & run around the ring to recover my senses. The boxer on the other hand becuase he can only punch he start chasing me but couldn`t land that "killer blow" if he could kick he could have got me with a kick. Finally the referee step in, gave me a standing 8 counts.
That gave me enough time to regain all my senses plus allows my body to adjust & warm up from that hit.
After that, I started attacking him with my kicks & sweeping combining with punches. Keepimg him off balance all the time. And without putting much thought into it, I guess my kicks where penetrating him. Becuase after the fight I watch the pictures I could see my kicks were causing him to jerk backwards sometimes upwards.
But I must say, he is so well condition that at one instance, I had him on the ground pin down with my two knees I was pummelling away at him. I must have smack him a dozen blows before the referee step in to break us up.
I thought he was finish becuase his nose was bleeding & chicks swelling. But to my amazement he kept coming for more.
For the next 2 1/2 round, I dominated him, I pour everything I had, sweeping, throws, kicks, punch & tripping. he must have fell down 3-4 times but he kept getting up. HIS CONDITIONING WAS JUST AMAZING!.
I won the fight but I was super exhausted.
The greatest knock down I scored was a knee attack smack right into the chest of my opppnent.
And to proove that pro boxers are so well condtioned, was when we went to China in the mid 80`s me & 3 other pro boxers represented the Philippines in the Fisrt International San Shou Invitational.
The boxers won easily against other nations with their right hook. But China was so powerful that, the chinese team kick their way to victory. One of the boxers took a severe punishment when he cover up ( boxers defense ) with both arms close to his body & head. The chinese kick his arms until it swell so bad that the boxer couldn`t move it at all. But it was his condioning that allows him to take the punishment up to run 3.
Yes, since we are a non-commercialized kungfu..... our aim is to apply those benefits of learning kungfu unto life as of now...... not for commercial fights like those in TV
even in real life, someone ask you to fight, even if you get hit by your opponents punch, you still have the guts to PATIENCE since THE MORE YOU LEARN KUNGFU - THE MORE PATIENCE YOU HAVE DURING FIGHT CONFRONTATION TO AVOID FIGHTING
ya, people will call you stupid, coward, but in fact, you are already win!!!!!
Note:
TO FIGHT AND WIN A THOUSANDS OF BATTLES IS NOT GOOD.....
IT IS BETTER TO WIN A BATTLE WITHOUT FIGHTING
