Well that'd apply to hetrosexual people too., would you roll with ANYONE who was really randy? I wouldnt!
Damn!!!!
But seriously the first couple of times I did BJJ I found it really hard not to think about sex. Not because that is all I think about (Cakegirl no comments please ) but rather that when in the guard I could not HELP but think about sex (especially if the guy was cute). Though this was distracting, after about the third time I forgot to think about it and focused on BJJ. So please don't hate me!!!!
...as soon as Harada saw the kimono clad Okuyama with his long flowing hair he said, “I knew I couldn’t win the encounter”. There was something special about him. Harada faced him all the same, but as soon as it had begun it was over “it was truly incredible” Harada recalled, “so fast”. Okuyama had attacked Harada’s head with an open palm. Okuyama had not even physically touched Harada “but I felt the power, such power, I had never felt that before anywhere”.
Guys, would you have a problem rolling with an openly straight but horny woman?
I know at first it probably sounds like a dream come true, but think about it a bit before you answer... If sometimes you couldn't tell if she was in class to learn BJJ or just to feel up the guys... If sometimes it felt like what she was doing would be interfering with your relationship with your wife/girlfriend/partner...
Just wondering.
(Just so you know, no, I am not that woman. In fact, during BJJ class is the time that I LEAST think about sex.)
well, I guess that determines on what kind of woman she was. I dont really care if she's horny. I have that effect on most woman
But if she was one of those deep voiced, mustached, sweaty, lude, obnoxious types; the kind that shows up with beer on her breath, well yeah that would freak me out.

that's probably how I'd describe the last few girls I've dated. Damn. Life sucks.
Just curious. I have never encountered this at the gyms that I train at, but cant help but think that some day it may happen. I think I would be weirded out by something like that. You never know if the guy is really there to work technique, or if he is enjoying the romp.... ewwww
First I would encourage most anyone to be comfortable with their training enviroment. Should someone ever encounter this situation I am sure any competent instructor and fellow classmate's would sniff out these folk's with any alterior motives and dismiss them quickly...
"i dont know, would you really want some big gay boy getting you in the rear mounted postion, that could make you feel a bit vulnerable"
What should I feel vulnerable about? I'm in a room full of extremely capable fighters - who all, to one degree or another, care for me and my safety.
You should be scared a fighter might care a little too much about you.
Generally, men who are comfortable with themselves within their sexuality (whether straight, gay or bi) have no problem being around men with different sexual preferences.
Only someone who is gay themselves actually believes that crap, are you gay ?
The key thing people need to learn (i think) is that there is nothing wrong, creepy or gross about anyone's sexuality - so long as noone involved has their will violated. That is the only creepy, gross thing about sex.
Nothing gross or creepy about anyone's sexuality so long as they're not a fruit cake.
Well. Poo-eating is pretty freaking gross. What the hell are those people THINKING?! Seriously..dude. What the hell? --
They don't eat poo, they're too busy being fudge packers.
I can dig the concerns about blood and disease. In fact, that was the first thing I said to him (the fellow with HIV)..As far as we know at this date it is extremely, extremely unlikely that it would be transfered across abrasions/small cuts while wrestling. He was also so concerned about it we never had to tell him. He'd have any abrasions taped before we noticed them.
Actually all it takes is a small cut to get aids, that's why if we bleed in class we can't continue sparring until we put a bandage on.
I probably ran a greater risk of breaking my neck wrestling guys 80 pounds heavier than me - than I *EVER* ran of getting HIV because a cut on my finger rubbed a cut on his finger for 1/16th of a second.
I doubt that, since when it comes to class you don't wrestle full contact and you'd be careful not to break a person's neck.Getting aids from a cut has nothing to do with being careful, a person can't avoid getting a cut in martial arts, just as the person who comes in contact with it can't help it if he catches it.Only way to avoid catching aids from someone is by your opponent wearing a bandage or you simply avoiding sparring.

I think contracting aids has alot less to do with a little cut than by blood spatter. Unless the guy is bleeding into your mouth or an open wound...I think there's little to worry about.
But yet again...you never know, which is why if somebody has a contratible disease of ANY kind, they should let the people the train with know ASAP. Failure to do so is why so many wrestlers get nasty assed pathenogens, like herpes and tinea.
I think the aids thing is probably alot more relavent in an actual bout...where blood has a much greater chance of getting into a cut or an eye, nose, mouth, etc.
