      UFC : Ultimate Fighting Championship

According to the article on the UFC page, GSP also studied and trained in Muay Thai. Those kicks just aren't like Karate.

Technically if you're doing MMA you're doing multiple arts so you've pretty much done everything ranging from Boxing to Wrestling and so forth. GSP's base was Kyokushin Karate though.

It might be fair to say that "MMA" is a style of it's own.

Muay Thai; it has kicks, knees, elbows and the Thai clinch in addition to punches.

                    FC,
I was being facetious. I don't have a name for my preferred style as it is drawn from various arts that I have been exposed to. I take out of it what works for me and keep it moving. So my current style would probably be heavily influenced by my JKD training.

Modern Kyokushin has been influenced by Muay Thai, it's not simply 'karate' that most people think of. Offshoots of Kyokushin, like Ashihara, Enshin & Shidokan Karate have borrowed even more heavily from the Thai's.
