Funny guy.... A belt is a weapon. Perhaps you've never been "spanked"? Don't make the mistake of assuming that an exception to the rule is the general rule. Most highschool wrestlers and many university level wrestlers would fall to a BJJ bluebelt...

No style is invulnerable.
No belt is a guarantee.
P.S. If a belt is a weapon does it matter what colour it is?

[QUOTE=SimonM]Sorry I just don't judge a fighter by their belt. That is foolish. It's all relative; I never said "all BJJ blackbelts would get wiped if they rolled with a Highschool wrestler" I said that particular BJJ blackbelt got beat by that particular Highschool wrestler in response to the post of pstevens who did not believe that was possible.

Well put; I always think it comes down to the fighter, training and expereince help, but in the end your rank or belt will not make you the winner.

There is no need to apologize. Only just?
Where do you get your ideas?Makes sense to me.Who said
relative; I never said all BJJ blackbelts would get wiped if they rolled with a Highschool wrestler I said that particular BJJ blackbelt got beat by that particular Highschool wrestler in response to the post of pstevens who did not believe that was possible is?Why not? And invulnerable is style.
Why not? When is belt not a guarantee?
Is this a riddle?
I only hear that type of response less than five percent of the time.

No need to apologize, I was just reminded of a fight I saw once where both the attacker and defender removed their belts and began swinging them at each other. I guess the size of the buckle and the girth of the gut would give one the advantage, eh?Then there's binding or strangling.
...and spanking!

Its about aplication, tech. and speed. Strenth is important, but unless you plan on ending a fight with 1 big haymaker (which would work) a smaller guy with the same skill level who has more speed will beat you.

How often do you train?
How does your club separate the striking and grapling classes?
How often does you club has MMA fight against other clubs?
If so, how many fight have you taken part?
What rules do you use for MMA e.g headbutt/elbows allowed?

Hey wardancer.
You might like this from his profile,...
"Martial Art(s) Studied:
My main style of martial art is Taekwon-do. I have also studied in length, Systems and Jeet Kun Do. I am begining my studies in Mui Tai kickboxing. I have been developing my chi and focus for about 1 year. Was provincial open sparring gold in 2000.
Occupation:
Student. I help organize a weekly open sparring club".
So he's a TKD boy that can't even spell the other styles he's studied "in length"
But we should give him a break, he's only been working on his "Chi and focus for about 1 year"....
If he ACTUALLY sparred in the provincial open back in 2000, he must have been a powerful Pee Wee player!
