look, if u are so concerned with developing hand skills, then take boxing. i dont know much about hapkido, but i know that hand skills are only a small part of what they train because hapkido includes training in all ranges. if u really want to work on your hand skills, then take boxing cause all the focus is on hand skills while in hapkido you would probobly only devote a small fraction of your time to hand skills just because there are more things to work on.

I trained in it for 12 years so of course I think it's effective. But my school wasn't the typical run of the mill Hapkido schools (at first) either.

Dude that makes no sense. Evolution works in nearly everything, what your saying is that we went backwards instead of forwards. So we get worse after learning from these great masters? Everything evolves, its just a fact of life. We learn something and then we add onto it. We don't learn then after knowing what is effective then decide to learn something that is worse.
