Silva did most of his damage with simple techniques form boxing. Simplicity of technique can take you a long way.Originally posted by blitzhttp://video.google.com/videoplay?do...hai&time=30000 From a travel guide.Yea, what a nice vacation--getting your Arse kicked for fun!
Capoeira vs muay thai from Tom yum goong. Just a nice movie scene not real fighting
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...64&q=Muay+thaiAt the end of the vid they both looked like Capoeria fighters

Personally, I appreciate and enjoyed every clip in this thread.Originally posted by blitzI don't see anything wrong with adding a few others which don't include sparring. But if you want me to delete them i will.

Both were good but I like the second sparring match better simply because they used more front leg techniques. In the first vid, they kept using back leg thrust kicks when it was right their for the front leg.Originally posted by gabbah

You know him personally? I would try advancing right as he launches his attack but at an angle. Whatcha think?Originally posted by BoarSpearIts VERY hard to advance on that that little guy without eating a foot...or two.

Actually i know them both really well...i taught them
thats footage of their first attempt of adding contact to capoerira...the cap is a "toy" we use to blend the aliveness and animal frolicking.... i require any kid i teach to learn it ....it makes a nice bridge between kicking and groundwork when you add the monkey into the equation

Nice new video.............Well, since I'm old enough to be his dad, I think I'll pass but I still think the only way to tag that kid is to charge him right as he launches his attack. It takes guts and good timing but is a very effective strategy to employ. I've sparred dozens and dozens of different people from all styles and would welcome the expericence. How is the kids power? I thought you were a JJJ man, how many styles do you cross train in?Originally posted by BoarSpeari think he would surpise you by reading your attack...yeah, you might say i know him personally

Those kicks didn't look very powerful to me... guts and good timing? Umm I dunno, I think it looks pretty damn easy to get close to him. It's not like you can't take a kick on the leg or on your guard (forearms) to get in close and grapple or just start boxing him... And most of his capeira kicks are slow as hell. What would the problem be?Originally posted by HardballNice new video.............Well, since I'm old enough to be his dad, I think I'll pass but I still think the only way to tag that kid is to charge him right as he launches his attack. his power is really good...As for assuming you can nail me down to one style...
good luck...hehehehe remember the video of the kid in diapers? I was the same way (he IS my son)...every kid in the family sees it all day, monkey see, monkey do...i am actually a loose boxer (taiji is the closest idea i can give you) who happens to practice a shit load of arts.
