That's it. I'm dropping everything and signing up for TKD. They'll teach me the CORRECT way to deal with low kicks, not like that MT way of dropping your hands like that (like at 1:04 in the video). I can also see that MT has absolutely no punching defenses or clinching techniques as I was previously led to believe.

Even though you are being Sarcastic, TKD has some good points to it. If I search hard enough, I'm sure I could find a vid of a MT guy kicking the ARSE of a TKD practitioner. They Both need Krav Magra, right? Not.Originally posted by aseepishThat's it. I'm dropping everything and signing up for TKD. The point is everybody gets criticisim no matter what their style, but It is up to the individual to practice, master the basics and cross train as necessary. In my opinion there is no bad art, every body thinks their art is the best; but it is really up to the individual. O.K., I'm starting to babble so it's time to STFU

I've met quite a few fighters with a TKD background who were VERY good at what they did. I've met people with MT backgrounds who were lousy. The guy in that video who was supposedly a MT guy was not good at what he did.
I would like to see him fight the supposedly MT guy from the Wing Chun v. Muay Thai video on the Chinese Arts discussion forum.
We ALL have to do Tai Ch'i.

I love tai chi at the Ocean at 5 a.m. with the sun coming up or in the forrest on a bright summer day. Forms help me to relax and stay focused. Many are against forms but I find them relaxing.Originally posted by aseepishWe ALL have to do Tai Ch'i.

Many are against forms because they say they aren't a good way for practicing techniques in MA. But forms are very relaxing. I'm not against forms btw.Originally posted by HardballI love tai chi at the Ocean at 5 a.m. with the sun coming up or in the forrest on a bright summer day. Forms help me to relax and stay focused.
