I agree. It's amazing how learning grappling can give you a better understanding of the striking game and vice versa.

not useless, you can appear wise amongst even the sagest of wisemen by doing nothing but re-uttering my opinions

Thats why UFC made the rules, because it can "Never Happen", right.
Just think for 1 second. If you were a striker and were going to fight a grappler. Would you not spend everyday training to attack any opening. There are numerous fights when grapplers backs and necks are exposed.
Tito & Shamrock, Sanchez and Gassaway, Liddell, Horn. The only problem is that you dont train your mind to possibilities. Just because it doesn't happen in the fight doen't mean it cant. You have to remember these fighter fight by the rules, thats why it seems it can never happen. Because they are not trained for it.

            As for Penance,
Please for the last time learn the rules.
In boxing you can not hit some one with their back is turned yes and you can't hit some one with their back turned in MMA either. It is considered delaying the fight and the person will be dq'd. damn this is getting old.
Everyones wrong and your right !!!

hey ninjaboy, go watch UFC 1....through like 10....then come back and tell me about your magic punch me in the back of the head techniques.....there used to be only 3 rules....no biting, no eyegouging, no fishhooking....that got rid of crazy homeless zombies,...people who like to poke others in the eyes...and an old school street wrestling move. only reason we got all the new rules is so our sport didn't get outlawed.

Your right, that's one of the reasons the rules were made. The others to protect the fighters.
Comparing fighters from UFC 1-10 is like comparing boxers from the 50's to todays. Of course it was different back then. But the fighters who fought in the early UFC weren't martial artists. Look at thier records. Like the sumo guy or karate guy. They fought 1 time and 1 time alone. If you let "todays strikers" unload on the back of the head of a grappler, then the UFC will be a totally different scene. And dont talk about grapplers dont lunge with thier heads down.
Nuff said about this, it's obvoius none of you are martial artists.
You are all pretty much about as ready for a fight as that guy who turned 39 in those birthday pictures is ready.
Come train with me at Cung Le Martial Arts Academy 3469 McKee Road
in san jose and see how ready you are to take me down. 6'3 225. 6-1-1

Oh jesus...now it all comes out.

If you wanted people to challenge you then why didn't you just make a thread that said "Attn: San Jose people, taking all challengers."

So let me guess, your loss came against a grappler that you could have beaten if only you'd been allowed to unload on the back of his head. Got it.

I'm guessing this is how it is going to go.
Someone takes the time to fly down there.
                              They set up a match.
When they fight the MMA-tist sets up the takedown with strikes and takes him down.
Ninjaboy gets taken down and is unable to stop the takedown with his deadly strikes and lack of time to react due to the takedown set up.
Ninjaboy rants about how he only lost because the MMA-tist used strikes and how he won because of strikes and not grappling
                              Cycle repeats itself...

No no, its not like that. My first loss was my first match. I lost fair and square. I had the jitters. I was only 20 fighting a 27 year old.
                                I admit it though.
I am not even saying that I can beat everyone. I just know how to win against grapplers. I almost forgot to mention that I train in Steel Palm. I have broken 8 bricks with out spacers. It wouldn't even take an elbow to the back of the head to defeat some one, just a crushing slap.
This is another rule in UFC. Why don't you think they do not allow, Iron Palm, Steel Palm masters to fight in the UFC. There are so many things you need to learn about martial arts before you consider grappling the ultimate art.
I have much respect for BJJ, but it is one thing to start a fight on the ground and another to try to bring some on to it.
So in my conclusion (which means I will not respond to this thread anymore)
As I stated in the title. If UFC were to change the rules, then I believe it can surpass Boxing as the ultimate fighting sport. I dont mean let in eye gouging or biting in. Just let "Strikers" do what they do. Will it mean, every grappler will loose. NO, Sam Morgan is not going to Pound on Matt Hughes, but it will give the dedicated martial "Striker" more of a real chance. And I feel it will allow the viewers to see more stand up action.
