No I was serious not sarcastic. Even though I'm Shodan in JJJ; I still get confused about the similarities and differences between JJJ and Judo. I liked your response. KiaOriginally posted by J-Luck View PostI couldn't tell if this was sarcastic or not... If so, again, I meant no offense.

Yea, I know what you mean. When I entered a new JJJ Dojo back in May 06, I inherited a 9th degree ( 65 year old man) yelling at me that my breakfalls were flawed and that's after 10 years of me doing breakfalls. Yikes.Originally posted by SamuraiGuy View PostAll I know is having a Schichidan (thats 7th degree for anyone who might not know) yell at you for like an hour to pull the wrist up when he's trying to teach you to throw uchi-mata is a hell of a thing to give you an opinion on something.

LMAO ... kuzushi was neither developed from randori or inherently from judo. Even the term judo was not created or coined by Kano.Originally posted by J-LuckKuzushi was more of a concept that developed from randori, which would make it inherently from Judo. Kuzushi helps in any type of grappling. Once understood, it helps a great deal.
The concept and term kuzushi came from a system of jujitsu which existed more than 200 years before Kano's birth. Randori was Kano's true contribution to the martial arts. Anyone who knows the art and its history could tell you that it would impossible for kuzushi to have been developed from randori because randori came more than 200+ years after the concept of kuzushi had been introduced to Japan from China.
Just like the last debate, some people just make things up as they go along to have something to say.

Hey at least he got the point across lol....besides there are many variations on techniques its not like Aoki is a straight Judo player anyway.I would rather pick Aoki's brain on how to grapple in MMA over your judo coach anyway since Aoki is a world class Grappler and MMA fighter...no offense intended.Originally posted by SamuraiGuy View PostAll I know is having a Schichidan (thats 7th degree for anyone who might not know) yell at you for like an hour to pull the wrist up when he's trying to teach you to throw uchi-mata is a hell of a thing to give you an opinion on something.

He's actually not my coach, his students, three Yodan's (fourth degree) are my instructors....Originally posted by JkD187 View PostHey at least he got the point across lol....besides there are many variations on techniques its not like Aoki is a straight Judo player anyway.I would rather pick Aoki's brain on how to grapple in MMA over your judo coach anyway since Aoki is a world class Grappler and MMA fighter...no offense intended.
Aoki, while an amazing grappler (did u see that gogoplata!!!) is more of a gaurd player than anything if im not mistaken... (admittedly im not the Aoki dictionary so dont hold me to that).
This guy knows more about Judo (Uchi-Mata is still judo right?) than Aoki whether he's a world class grappler or not, and he is a world class judoka, heck hes a 7th dan and he's not even japanese....

The gogoplata was amazing i saw it live on the web.Aoki does work best from the guard yes but he has his blackbelt in bolth Judo and bjj.The belt rank honestly doesnt matter much to me 7th degree or first...id rather learn from someone who actually pulls of his techniques at the highest levels of competition. Now im not saying those guys arent good its just that if aoki pulls the wrist down then obviously it works pretty good....besides he holds the wrist down to set up the barbo choke off the takedown.Originally posted by SamuraiGuy View PostHe's actually not my coach, his students, three Yodan's (fourth degree) are my instructors....
