  • Kimbo got hammered!

Kevin Ferguson AKA "KIMBO SLICE" the heavily hyped Internet sensation suffers TKO in just 14 seconds!

    ...
Petruzelli, 28, had been slated to fight on the undercard against Aaron Rosa at the Bank Atlantic Center. But he was bumped up to the heavyweight main event of the EliteXC "CBS Saturday Night Fights" card when the athletic commission sidelined Ken Shamrock. The UFC Hall of Famer needed six stitches over his left eye after an old cut reopened when he was bumping heads warming up earlier in the day.

Petruzelli, a graduate of Season 2 of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality TV show, had been shaping to fight at light-heavyweight and weighed in 205.5 pounds, 29 lighter than Slice. He had also lost two of his last four fights before dispatching Slice.

Slice (3-1) declined to touch gloves in the cage before the fight and came forward at the bell, backing off Petruzelli (11-4). But as Slice looked to block a front kick, he was toppled with a right. Slice fell forward and Petruzelli kept punching. Slice turned on his back and had taken almost a dozen unanswered punches before referee Troy Waugh stepped in....

he slipped by the look of it and fell into a terrible position.
          Doesnt say much imo.
Anyone can get caught like that. Not a huge Kimbo fan, just being fair.

Thing is, he wasn't even trying anything down there. Wrap a leg? Cover? Anything at all? Nothing.

I've got nothing against Slice (seems like a guy just riding some good luck), but it WAS about time somebody knocked him out and he's lucky it wasn't any worse.

            IMHO

Take a look at this video with an open mind...it shows a replay a couple times:

The front kick didn't land. The jab that supposedly knocked Kimbo down was a very weak jab. He slipped and wasn't knocked down. The punches that followed mostly hit Kimbo's shoulder and top of head. IMO, that fight was stopped prematurely.

yeah i dont think he could do much about that.
he was being hit before he could even grab anything, hes only had 3 fights, what the hell.

The fight was a 10 fight fighter against a 3 fight fighter, no surprise really.
Kimbo is famous for his bareknuckle fights, has this been such a fight he would have won.

Im just being fair. Its all very well saying hes crap but he was going against a guy with 3 times as many fights as him.

As much as people dont like him, you have to give him his fair chance.

Again i dont particularly like Kimbo, but im not going to jump on the bandwagon because of it. Fair is fair, and this wasnt.

I think the punch stunned him because it hit in the temple area. If Slice wasn't stunned then why was he grabbing the refs leg? The front kick was a glancing blow, just enough to off balance Kimbo.

The fight was stopped because you "must protect yourself at all times" and Kimbo was not protecting himself. Kimbo himself, didn't complain about the stoppage.

i think it was a good stoppage. did he slip? i dont think so personally. but, even if he did, he wasnt defending himself. and, if he wasnt severely rocked, then why shoot on the ref? he didnt just grab his leg. if u watch a few seconds after (which im not sure this video shows) kimbo backed the ref into the cage still thinking it was Petruzelli...unless he knew it was the ref and was p*ssed at him for the stoppage

Clownage. Vince McMahon of the WWE would be proud of that entire spectacle.

in the Audio pre fight press conference, Kimbo was telling Ken that he will give him a Free Shot in the Fight, I mean a Glazing Punch can Knock Kimbo down what more a Solid Clean Chin Shot from Ken..Kimbo is arrogant and he deserves to get KTFO

Right before the fight was stopped Petruzeli punched kimbo 3 times right in the face with no protection at all from kimbo, he could keep doing it with no difficulties.. No reason to keep the fight going.
The fight was over anyway. Right call from the ref imo.

                            .

the guy that beat kimbo came out after the fight and said he was told it was worth his while to not go to the ground with kimbo but that he was a professional and a fighter and was gonna try to win. elite xc have had other instances where people thought the fights were rigged to where the opponent was told not to take kimbo to the ground for extra money or somehting like that.

i believe it cause kimbo is a bum

The temple area is no so much the KO strike in controlled sports.

Could it be that the front kick, what could barely be seen, actually winded Kimbo?
