I dont know who. There were 4 of them chasing me threw a pineapple field in Hawaii.I was on foot and they had a car.I got in a fight and really messed the guy up.Well, his friends arrived just in time to catch me.And they didnt like Howlys anyway. So,I did the honorable thing.I ran like hell.About half way threw the field,I started hearing shots.Well, one hit me.So I had a girl I knew who was a nurse dig it out for me.Just a 22.But I was still lucky.
All my injuries listed are from fighting.
I have a much bigger list if we include everything.
I always thought I couldnt be hurt and I would be in great shape forever.NOT!

Dan, there have to be some good details behind that story. Give you haole.

Rockinronnie: The older you get the longer the list becomes.

        Thanks for the advice, karlinhos

I'm actually also thinking of getting a Manitou.
The one on my Scrambler is pretty cr@ppy. RST 167, with like 2 1/2 inches. Actrually very cr@ppy.

          Smackus,

2 1/2 inches?!?!?! Damn just about ANYTHING would be an improvement! I think I have 2 1/2" of clearance on my REAR shock! (hee-hee)

Nonetheless, the best of luck to you and I really was more just spewing a bunch of extremes. I know the MOTO120 is about $1,000.00... too rich for MY blood!

          Keep On Biking!

My friend is actually selling me some Rock Shox Jetts for like $40 Canadian. A very good deal. I think it's something like 4-5 inches. Probably gonna get that, but if I see a good deal on those Judy's, I'm definately going for them.

            BTW
Karlinhos, do you do like Downhill Dual Slalom or something? Or do you do cross-country.
            I've heard that full-suspension isn't that great for cross-country. I don't know. I'm a cross-country guy myself.

I'm more of a downhiller although to get to "downhill territory" you either gotta drive an hour or two (I'm in L.A.) or "downhill" illegally on horse/hiking trails and I don't like doing that since I don't think the plight of the mountain biker needs to be further trashed by such hi-jinx. Soooooooooooo... most of my riding is distance type stuff, just to maintain some sort of "wind" (stamina). Not too extreme, anywhere from 10-20 mile rides, off and on roads.

As for full suspension for X-country... I don't think World Champion Tinker Juarez has a problem using a FS for x-country. (hehehe)

4-5 inches is cool. I think my front are 4 and it has saved my ass a number of times. There are times when I come across 4"-5" rocks in the road and when I'm sure I'm gonna endo, my shock sucks up the hazard and I go right over it. Cool shi'ite when you come out unscathed.

                Details for Mickey.
Well, the whole thing started at a friendly game of football on the beach.Locals against military personel. It started getting out of hand.Every scirmish turned into a fight.I got tired of the b.s. so I said later and started walking home.Well, leaving the group was the wrong thing to do.One of the locals followed me and thought he was going to catch me alone and have a party kicking my ass.Wrong.
I kept my distance and kicked him in the knees and thighs untill he couldnt stand.Once he went down I jumped on him and somehow managed to get both his arms pinned behind and underneath him.To this day I dont know how that happened.
But,needless to say I had mount and rained on his face.
Now I see headlights coming down the road.As soon as the car gets headlights on us,his friends (who are in the car)see what is happening. The car speeds up and skids sliding sideways to a stop.Four guys fly out like a chinese firedrill.I see two of them have something in their hands.I didnt wait to find out what.I just made an exit, stage left to a pineapple field.I hear em yelling.(It's that little Mo Fo from the game). They all pile back into the car and take off after me.Like I said I got halfway through the field and hear them shooting.I felt something hit me under the arm.I didnt think much of it untill it didnt go away and I felt to see what it was.I brought my hand back covered in blood.I remember saying to myself (Your going to die out here). Then I answered myself.(Like f-ck I am).So I dropped and hid in the rows. The car stopped and they got out to look for me.Thats when I got back up and to the otherside of the field.I made it to the ditch on the other side before they all got back in the car.I then crawled along that ditch for about a half mile or so.I saw some guys from post and jumped out in front of their car and got em to take me to my girlfriends house.I had to get patched up before I went back to Schofield. She pulled out a 22 that had somehow broke apart.I still have a small chunk that kinda floats around.

Good story Dan. Many a haole has disappeared forever in those pineapple fields. No doubt that is exactly what they had planned for you.

YT: In some ways Hawaii is like a foreign country. Dan may have had other reasons for his actions, (the military doesn’t generally like its boys getting into it with the civilian population.) but it is not uncommon for a haole (white mainlander) to report an assault by a local boy only to wind up in jail himself. Those islands are small and everyone knows everyone. You report the crime and the guy you are fingering is possibly the nephew of the chief of police. Suddenly you have all kinds of locals willing to say anything to railroad the haole and save the local boy. I’ve seen it first hand.

Funny, when I was in Hawaii (when I was 5 yrs old) I used to think it was heaven.

Thanks for ruining my perception of Hawaii you jerks!

I sucked tonight at class. I had a pain in my back/side and was doing exercises and the techniques. When it came to sparring, I got my opponent in my guard, he did an Upah move and swept me, and nothing I could do about it. Lying on my back, I couldn't move. The pain in my back was so severe. Finally got home, had to go back in to work for a while, all the while in pain. I finally realize that I have a muscle spasm the size of a baseball and put some medicine on. Well, this is just a temporary injury, but one that almost immobilized me. Funny, I've had muscle spasms as a kid, but never knew it until I was older. I just used to think I slept funny and had some pains in my back.
If you've never had a bad muscle spasm, you have no idea. It's similar to someone who has never had a migraine headache tell you to just go take some aspirin when you have one.

Dan, being from Hawaii, I'm sorry that something like that happened to you. Its always the jerks and cowards that ruin the day.

BTW, those injuries, I'm surprised you're still alive.
