It looks like tripod.com has hourly transfer limits for the free accounts
I tried to look at the page after uploading some new stuff and it said the account was locked for an hour because the transfer limit had been exceeded. That really sucks. How can my hobby of trying to make a successful website work with that kind of limitation?
I'd rather have a real domain and quality hosting anyhow!
It's gonna be great. It's gonna have videos to download, free tehcniques, articles if anyone cares to contribute them (coz I won't be writting them) and basically the same stuff you see on every other martial arts website!!! HOOORAAYY!!!
Well I cant really comment on BJJ as I havnt done it, well it aint even available in my countrie, but yes Judo is only for one on one confrontations, So is only obviously good in these situations, but some of the ground techniques and throws should really be practiced to be added to your arsenal.
My hosting service has password protected directories. I wonder if I could charge people for access to the directories and what I could offer them... hmmmmm.
It also has a forum but it's nothing compared to this.
GRACIEAUSTIN is right. A fight between two untrained kids says jack shit about either Judo or Jiu Jitsu. All this "if he'd known that he could have done this" stuff is nonsense.
And, as for starting training on your knees, that suits me just fine.
Firstly, I don't want to get injured by slamming into the floor 1,000 times per session. Secondly, I wouldn't purposefully go to the gorund anyway. I train submission in case I end up there regardless.
No offence. BJJ or GJJ is way better for real fighting than sport Judo, though there are apparently clubs still around that do the pre war original Judo. This was much more useful.
I`m going to say some stuff to this topic, Haha, I saw so many openings for the knee strikes in that video :P When the smaller kid was on the ground, I would of elbowed him. (but who knows, you got adrenaline and all. )
Umm, anyways my opinion is this: I`d say Judo. As I know nothing about it, well I have few cousins who train. It is a lot of throws right? I don`t mean to go a little off topic but, incorporating some Muay Thai striking techniques in Judo would probably work, IMO. This is what I`m thinking off, as in a fight, 1 on 1 pound him with your body weapons. He comes near you, try to take you down, pulling the shirt, hockey-like fight (when you pull his shirt over his head) and all that, Throw him :P and make sure he cracks his neck or something, HAHAHA. (jokes). As for a group of people, maybe 4? Lets just say the best way to get away is run, FAST! Maybe 2 or 3 people. You may have a chance but you people wouldn`t take my words because I`m only 14.
Throwing a person is easier said than done when they are not wearing a gi made of tough fabric. I like Judo, but the only throws I would seriously consider are leg reaps. Even a hip throw is questionable, as it presents your back to your opponent. Size and strength are major factors in throwing an attacker. BJJ has better groundwork, but Judo can hold its own. The takedowns are only important if you are training for sport. Very rare is the situation that you would actively take the fight to the ground. Even then, your only concern is maintaining position (preferably the mount) enough that you will be able to strike effectively.

I think they do as well, thats why I train ground fighting. But I don't use an unskilled fight between a couple of kids to base my personal self defence strategy on.
