If you change the options at the bottom of the page to show the posts for the last year you can find Karate at its best part II on page 11, and Karate at its best on page 13. so the rest should be somewhere near those pages i would guess(i must have missed them, dont feel like looking again lol).....Theres alot of other posts about the "flaws" of martial arts as well, if your intrested.

Ok so ave i missed somthing or what If the UFC is so realistic how come thier all martial artists.
You sound like a big thumper who does nothing but deal with drunk people who have enough trouble being able to see and stand up. Than standing up with anyone that can give you a good fight.
I have a idea why dont you have a go at the UFC And tell us how much different it is to fight a fighter rather than a drunken bum.......
Ive had a go at a bouncer before he was a boxer with 12 years of bouncing under his belt. Ferking massive.
Within 5 seconds he was on his back looking up at me, I used one of the first techniques i ever learned a lead leg foot sweep. Only difference was i tried my hardest to snap his leg in half as he was shifting his weight to his lead leg as he was stepping on to me...
2 things you may think this is bollocks but it was a works night out and just about everyone i know was thier even my manager was thier. so i know i aint shitting anyone..
And the reason i knew he was a boxer with 12 years bouncing, Was cos he walked into the cinema where i was working and reconized me. Gave me extream amounts of respect and now trains with me.
Maybe someone may open your eyes one day...
Maybe you should goto one of them gay bodybuilding forums where you stand more of a chance of fitting in. Just a thought
Quote (I merely am pointing out how alot of you guys think you are badasses!! Did I ever say I was a badass myself. I never looked at myself as a badass but whatever. I just know how to fight and that's it.)
One other thing that part about being able to fight... I find that a bit disturbing.
Wot do you think we spend 5 hours a day doing. We training our arses off. I bet i could of whacked off my load all over your face and still found the time to bother knocking you flat out, Before you got the chance to connect with one of you ferking stupid larger lout swing puntches.
I belive if you keep your artillary basic martial arts is very effective.
Whos gonna have the best puntch.
Some bodybuilder bloke who dont even train to improve his arsenal or me
A martial artist who will stand thier and throw 100 puntches on the spot to improve my speed and power.
You may have heavy arms and that may even hurt if you managed to hit someone. But i know how to put my entire body through a puntch thats 14 stone against your arm. Just an example.
I train weights like alot of people on here but i dont do it to look gay i do it for strength and power.

6'4" @ 250 lbs ain't no joke man... A bouncer is a person hired to protect a private location and to preserve order, period. Now lets try to be balanced here... First of all, I think Martial Arts is not about "trying to figure out how to do a leg lock and wasting your money on a black belt that will do NOTHING FOR YOU except stroke your ego more and scare some little kids". Many of us here have flamed one another pages of threads to this kind of matter and get nowhere. The truth is that a 6'4", 250 lbs bouncer, used to all kinds of shit can KO a BJJ black belt with a punch, that's a fact. Now what happens if the punch doesn't land and the BJJ guy takes control? Tell me, being on the ground trapped with an effectively applied BJJ technique, is this guy, with 10 or 12 years of experience, "trying to figure out how to do a leg lock?" Have u thought that one of these days, the crowd in the bar could see your 6'4", 250 lbs frame submitted by a medium built BJJ black belt?? I mean, you're not Superman!! "Wasting your money on a black belt that will do NOTHING FOR YOU"?? A black belt in BJJ is something to respect, IMHO. "In my opinion it's a total waste of time"... You're right, that's your opinion. That's so easy to say. With all my respects to your ass kicking experience and bouncing job -which is very risky-, a person with very good street oriented mixed martial arts training, can give a hell of bar fight if put to the test... Martial Arts are out there. They work for some. They're nonsense for you, BigBodyBuilder, which is respectable... But they're there...

I've had my share of tough fights. It hasn't been all ass kicking.
