Christian group says martial arts are a big no no...
Have you ever thought that the new testament is just a metaphorical story about a gay man coming out of the closet?
single male,12 'brotherly' disciples, romans(yes those gay muscular men), being nailed and speared by romans and a tiara on his head....rather such a sacreligious imagery but then again Christianity is a Jewish cult!
This is going to sound like a cop out, but I don't think I can really know or understand God's will completely. So I don't know. The English are out of France, though. Obviously I think that the church burning a saint at the stake is WRONG. Also I see a separation between the church and God.
I haven't experienced God working through me as an ego trip, I have experienced it as letting my ego get out of the way so I can do what I NEED to, not what I WANT to. This is hard to explain in words, but I think it is actually the opposite of an ego trip and is a very humbling experience.
Does this response mean you see my points about the other things I wrote about (will to live not being tied to religion, etc.)?

I dont recall the church being real impressed with gods work through joan of arc...unless being burned at the stake is your idea of gods reward.

sure some people can separate the two, but those arent the ones who push to change laws and start wars...

At the end of the day whether your christian, buddhist etc. they can all go home and enjoy a bowl of tom yum and a cup of 'shut the **** up'! I think the big issue that people is so worked up about is the fact that there are ignorant people, not the fact that there is this fundamentalist group against martial arts.

Wait, but I thought you said religious people are the ones who just pray instead of taking action!
twisting the arm of the politician you put in power with the money from the collection plates is action alright.
of course any religion can have good or bad people in it. good and bad people make up the world. For instance...
just because some of the most terrible things that were ever done to man were done in gods name, and some of the nicest things ever done were done just because they were random acts of kindness by athiests, doesnt prove anything right?
I'd be thankfull for a kind deed or act from anyone done out of sincerity, regardless of their beliefs. I'd hope that the person knew that I was thankfull too.
