  • How did that feel???

OK, ladies and gentlemen, here it is:
From reading the posts and threads on here, I gather that we have an amount of fighters who've had loads of ring experience. My question to you is this, what's the most painful leg kick you have ever taken? I have sparred with shin gaurds on, at full speed, and of course the leg kicks hurt, but not to the degree that a bare shin kick would; so naturally I wanted to ask you whom have foughten and get your input.
    Thanks.

foot to the nuts, shin up the nuts, knee up the nuts. no protection-bare nuts meets bare force-
i've hade a couple of those when i started muaythai new.
this "pain" can only be experienced by male practitioners, and can be endured by none

The most painful kick I recall was in my 2nd fight (1993). I took a Push Kick (teep) to the sternum that cracked a lot of my cartilage. It hurt to breathe for a long time after that.

But I have to give props to a kick I took in a fight this last year. Glen Spencer, JR of NBS Gym in Raleigh, NC. I threw a left round kick to his body as he threw a right round kick towards my hip. I took the kick on the butt. My buttocks/hamstring have never been the same since. It has affected my ability to run, therefore I am unable to train to maximum efficiency anymore.

The kick didn't hurt a great deal then, and the soreness wasn't (isn't) that bad, its just that when I run, I feel that muscle (Gluteous and Hamstrings) tightening up, threatening to cramp and/or charlie horse if I push it.

Hmm... we'll I remember this one time. I was doing a low round kick, smashed into my friends kneecap, fell over in pain. *note this was before i ever got into muay thai :P

In one fight I threw a round kick to the outer arm (downward) at the same time that my opponent went upward towards my rib. I was slightly faster, and his shin literally forced my cup to sheer upwards racking my privates. That sucked.

Other than that, the occasional catching of an elbow (or worse buckle of a pad if I'm too fast for the holder) is pretty bad.

Yeah, I know. I saw some pictures, on this site, of a snapped leg. It might have been yours; it was brutal.

Sorry, bro. Didn't your kick land on your opponent's hip or something? That sucks!

Yep & im having trouble at the moment with it, i think it's because of the lack of stretching at the moment.
