I have to reiterate that I'm still learning about all of this myself. I posted the categories in an above post in the order that I *think* they matter....

    1. Scoring Strikes
    2. Aggressiveness
    3. Ring Generalship
    4. Defense
    5. Style

Please take this with a grain of salt. I can't say enough that I'm still a novice at understanding MT scoring

here's what Ramon Dekkers had to say about the Thai scoring system

if you continue on to the next link "technique" there is more, basically saying what Khun Kao has said, judging is based mainly on effective "Muay Thai" striking, making it harder for a farang to win by decision although it has happened a few times .

70% Effective aggresiveness (number of clean blows landed with power and accuracy)

20% Ring Generalship (controling the fight with Muay Thai techniques and not allowing the opponent to perform)

10% Pure Aggressiveness (forcing the action to an opponent who runs away.

Here's a great article written by a ref who has a deep understanding of the Thai scoring system.

I only wish that MT scoring would be standardized accross the world. That way when farang compete in Thailand they will have a better chance at strategizing to win the fight...
