  • Knee Caps.

When you throw a kick, and a knee makes its way toward your foot, suddenly crashing in an orgasm of intense pain -- It sucks.

    Discuss.

    Possible topic for discussion:
Does this pain go away, like the pain in your shins? or do you have to break your foor 4 times and kill all the nerves before that happens.

Always wear knee pads when sparring...unless you were fighting in a ring.

Um yeah realy protect your caps. We were tought in a fight one of the things you can do is quickly kick with the toe of your foot right under a mans cap, thus ripping it right off causing the man to fall right to the ground, then you finish him off. You can also come from the side and rip it off like that. Most of all though even if you dont rip it off its going to hurt like a B**** thus screwing up his thought proses and now you have the upper hand. Caps=bad

I've honestly never seen anyone wearing kneepads. Ever.

Do you guys even train Muay Thai?

Toe under the knee cap, breaking your foot to kill the nerves...lol

Put down the Inside Kung fu and go to a gym.

You might need a surgery if the pain dosen't stop >< My dad had it but it wasn't from a kick, just bumped it hard but same principle. Wait a week or two then go to a doctor. Try keeping it from getting hit.

For those who actually do spar... I would recommend wearing kneepads. They are obviously not mandatory, but anyone who has ever trained for a fight knows the worst thing that can happen is an injury right before a fight. I always wear kneepads if I know I'll be clinching. I've seen far too many knee-on-knee clacks not to. They won't completely protect the knee, but they will take the edge off. They also take a little bit of the "sharpness" out of the impact into your partners ribs, which is a good thing.

lol srry for anyone who took that boot/toe thing wrong. Dude i didnt realy mean use your foot . In the army we allways wear boots. I ment use the toe of your boot to rip it off. Your right just using your foot is dumb as ****.

Breaking your foot to kill the nerves -- that was sarcasm, heavy sarcasm.

Yeah, I kinda guessed that. But with so many quacks on this board it was hard to tell for sure. A few weeks ago someone was posting about punching newspaper nailed to a brick wall...

Years ago I had an interesting discussion about real world self-defense with Master Chai, and he showed me a round kick to do in my workboots. The idea is to pull your toes back as your leg straightens (almost as hard in boots as pointing the toe...lol) and use your heel to attack their knee cap with intent to just take it off the front of the leg.

that actually is a training method...i dont recommend it, but it is done in shaolin temples....just buy a wall board.

They also punch and kick bags of rocks to supplement the wall training.

It very well may be a kung fu training method, but it has nothing to do with this Thaiboxing/Kickboxing forum. Know what I am saying?
