They also punch and kick bags of rocks to supplement the wall training.

im not bieng an ass here just asking a question.

whats the beef with my rock bags and hitting walls and trees, i know you must know of its effectiveness, also its dangers. but i have a feling deep down that you hit trees and walls as training aswell, maybe you dont but something tells me you do more shaolin training than you let on,

why does everyone not seem to have knowledge of traditional training methods?.

        peace.

I think the answer is that everyone on this board that has trained more than 3 months has been trying to get people to stop kicking trees and rolling bottles up and down their shins.

Hitting rocks, trees and walls has zero to do with Muay thai or kickboxing. There is a kung fu forum that you can post on if you want to discuss that type of training.

Quite a few of us do have knowledge AND experience in traditional training methods. Many of us started training in traditional martial arts before venturing into MuayThai.

The beef is, as pointed out, that these training methods have no place in Kickboxing or MuayThai. They are obsolete. We use completely modern equipment and training methods now. Heavy Bags, Double-End Balls, Boxing Gloves, Hand Wraps, Thai Pads, Punch Mitts....

Punching Walls, Trees, and Bags of Rocks doesn't provide the same type of dynamic workout or the feedback you need to be successful in the ring, and I would also argue it does little to prepare you for a confrontation outside of the ring either.
