I made the mistake of thinking I could take the rear naked choke, bend him backwards to take his balance but remain standing. If that had worked, I would have been in a good position - obviously it failed and he pulled me down. I underestimated him, simply speaking.
Recently, I have started working with a judo/JJJ trainer. I'm hoping to practice a lot of standing clinch and joint-locking/control technique that I've not been much exposed to. I mean, I've been shown wrist locks and such, but I've not really trained it.
To be honest, I have good striking and good sub-grappling, but not a whole lot in between.
