Boar, I am intrigued by the definition of a warrior. What is it?

I don't doubt that the man in the Ranger vid was a warrior. He went through the training; he was given instructions to rape and pillage...perhaps he did and was just carrying out orders.

If he did not follow his orders, he could have been court martialed, right or other punishment. How does a warrior face a tough decision like this one?

I think most of us would follow our orders and try to forget what just took place.

again, there's a big disparity between how things ought to be and how things are. i'll admit, i choose the term warrior caste for a bit of dramatic effect. but the reality is that the police have authority that from my philosophical standpoint i cannot condone any one man holding over another.

yes, there are many people who believe that way, and i think it has to do with what KOTF and i are discussing. we readily hand over too much trust to police because, well, they're the police!

While there may be actual warriors in the police force, what that video showed was a few frustrated pricks who are tired of being picked on since highschool.

    If you saw this happening........

Isn't it the main goal of the thug to make sure nobody who is able to help is around. This happens when you are alone and isolated someplace with your head up your ass. That was a busy street that was an alley or a hallway, the perp made sure that nobody was around to help. These guys are PRO's most of them do this for a living, its how they get paid.

This kind of assault doesn't happen in the open. I bet that asshole followed that old lady all the way from the store. Like many people have said scavangers like soft easy targets. In the animal kingdom lots of unattended babies die from oppurtunistic animals, we even have then in our society.

Allen Iverson, a proballer with plenty of tats had his jewelry stolen of him. As did Stephan Marbury. As did Zab Judah. Various rap stars. I agree that the average desperate thug wants an easy score, but we live in a time where people are getting more and more comfortable with taking what they don't have. And with the glorification of bling in music and televison, people want things that they don't need and can't afford.

I remember a time years ago when people were getting mugged for their leather coats, specifically 8-ball jackets. I remember people 3 or 4 years ago getting mugged for their Ipods. I remember a time when carjacking had gotten so bad in NJ that people were afraid to drive at night.

People don't think that they will be mugged at 12:00pm but it happens all the time. People like to believe that all ciminals are cowards, which is true for the most part, but forget that equalizers make them bold.
