So anybody that takes creatine.. is it ok to take creatine/protien in one drink? Right now im taking whey protien and would like to try creatine. im just wondering if there are any interactions with them? thanks!
creatine is basically liquid protein anyway. why would u take both? i don't know or think that there is anything wrong with that. but just make sure ur working out when using it. and yes i drink about 5 glasses a day in case u wanted to know....
You have to work out almost every day for Creatine to reach its potential. Without working out, Creatine is useless. Creatine speeds up the process in which the muscles break down and rehabilitate themselves after working out, which is why health experts recommend working out only 3 days a week (without creatine).
"That's how I feel, I'ma do whatever I like ... I was raised in this society so you can't expect me to be a perfect person cause, I'ma do what I'ma do."
There are two forms of creatine, creatine mono-hydrate and creatine phosphate,
Creatine phosphate is the naturally ocurring one, found in meat.
Creatine mono-hydrate is the stuff found in stuff like Maxi-Muscle Cyclone.
If you want your own opinion on opinion, go to google or ask jeeves or any other search engine, and look it up.
From what I read, the long term side effects have not been studied in great detail. One site stated possible side effects including kidney damage due to excessive intakes of creatine, however it did not state the timescale or the dossage required.
Although if it was to be taken in the amount stated on the box, then it would be safe to take.
As for combining it with whey protein, i know cyclone does it.
Now this is just general advice, but i've seen the negative effects that f**king around with that kind of stuff can have. Basically when you pop vitimans, herbs, antioxidants, and all that unregulated stuff and pop that kind of shit constantly you'll have problems. Somebody who i know goes crasy with that stuff, and has her whole skin break out, and said her veins felt like they were burning, and skin was so bad, couldnt lay down. Basically if you pop tons of that stuff, it will react if with one another, or other regulated OTC, and prescription drugs. You can ask your pharamist or doctor about potential reactions.
Now if you want to do this stuff you'll probally have no problems but just dont nuts, and try every miricle cure that comes along with no evidence to support it.
thx for the advice h2h but i think im ok. i work out enough with it so that i don't get any drastic changes in my body suddenly nor do i take anything else with it. but thx again for the info and i will be sure to keep it in my mind. thx dude
Ok, so if you are doing creatine it is better for you to work out a body area a day over 5 or 6 days??? Instead of doing a 3 time a week lift? or you mean i can lift 3 days a week but then do cardio and stuff the other days and the creatine will work? thanks for the help
Creatine is designed to decrease the recovery time for the process of muscle breakdown after working out. I work out all parts of my body every day and I have no problems without creatine, but my workouts are not quite extreme.
Only use Creatine if you want to do weight training 4-5 days a week or more at 100% activity level (extreme impact). A good nights sleep is required as well, for proper muscle growth. Creatine will allow your muscles to not feel as worn out, due to their enhanced recovery.
Another consideration is your calorie intake. Here is the formula to find out how many calories you should be consuming per day.
Weight X Gender = Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
Male = 11
Female = 10
Then you take the BMR and...
Activity level * BMR = Daily Activity Needs (DAN)
.3 = No exercise
.5 = Light exercise
.75 = Fairly active
1.00 = Extremely active
Then you take the BMR + DAN and you get the calories per day you should be consuming.
I will do myself:
120 (pounds) * 11 (male) = 1320 (BMR)
1320 x 1 = 1320 (DAN)
1320 (BMR) + 1320 (DAN) = 2640 calories per day
Calorie consumption is extremely important otherwise you will begin to lose weight.

creatine is not like proteins at all... they're 2 completly different things.
It's almost useless and it cost way too much. It's bad for the liver and kidney. If, in your head, you really think creatine works then fine for you, you will see some improvement in your workout... the mind is a powerfull thing! It's called the placebo effect.

Sanatarium I definately agree that ppl tend to take too many suppliments when starting or during training and the need is usually unfounded especially for creatine. Whether you look at it as negative or positive nothing will help unless to have a serious committment to work out. the 2 day a week ppl for 30-40 minutes should save thier money.
