Participants should be in level 4 si mun pah kat and know at least one weapon usually it is the 5 foot pole. This means their training is at least more than 2 years.
in our club, we start in a Gold Color Sash and will end soon in also a Gold Color Sash.....

my instructor said, while wearing your sash on your waist, you have also a two small sash with the same color attached on your both feet just below the shin - its purpose is to prevent cramps on both feet as well as cramps on waist level during practice....

also the location of the knotted sash - its positions where it located depends upon your rank..... we knotted our sash on our right side of waist....

KungFu Students and KungFu Practitioners knotted their sash on their right side of waist.....

KungFu Instructors knotted their sash on their left side of waist.....

    • I like to add, that with a good "chi" or internal energy with a well develop of the five power principle real weapons can be made to wiggle or the energy of the strike can be made to travel to the tip.

In fact, in Kong Han I know somebody who can snap any 7 foot+ pole in half just by whipping it in thin air either side ways or downwards, using his well develop five power ( legs, waist, shoulder, arm & breath simultaneously used in perfect timing).

I am sorry, I don't mean to be rude. I asked a question, but I didn't provide the information myself. I simply forgot.

My school used to have a sash rank system: white, yellow, pink, green, blue, brown, black, and red.

Brown is an assistant instructor, black is an instructor, red is a graduate. The reds have dots to provide the seniority.
You seem to be an enthusiastic ngo cho kun athlete too, maybe you should consider attending or partiicpating in one Wu Zu Quan convention tournament and get to meet other NCKers as well as sharing some of your nck forms through exhibitions performances. Treat the trip as an holiday thing, because usually the convention is accopamnied with sight seeing. You also get the chance to meet bueatiful mainland girls too

        • I would do it in the future. I am not allowed to do it before at least passing the instructor (black) level .

          • How many of you attended or have seen any recording on one of the conferences? I saw one video with the late Chee Kim Tong still doing a demonstration.

I have been an active participant since the 80`s untill 1993. In 1984 Kong Han did a China tour performing at Beijing, Fouzhou & Quanzhou. We had a big group and at that time China was starting to open up to international visitors.

I personally have not read the book yet. But my personal view on san chien or zanshin is that it is the unison or bringing together the mind, body & soul.

                        • Joedoe Author is Master Han (Peters teacher), I’m sure you know him! Book is very well done. I’m thinking of ordering myself a copy, and we definitely getting one book for the club. If you got any other question pm me.

milli I will answer your question if you answer mine , how did you got access to that book, or that information .

This book is privately published so it won't be found in shops, the only way you can get if Master Han himself approves
