Who said taijiquan needed "protecting"? What you quoted might make folks annoyed with me, but what you have written is certain to make quite a lot of folks consider TJ a joke. I don't want you to protect it (even if you had the reasoning ability to do so), but won't you stop making a joke out of it at least?

Agreed. In fact I've even sent people to the taiji classes that bored me because they said they were looking for something slow paced.Originally posted by jubajiYou seem determined to treat the Lizard Lady as if she were attacking taijiquan, but I don't see where she has.
Different strokes for different folks.
And I'm still friends with one of my former instructors; we had tea the other day.

The actual WORK involved in learning a MARTIAL art...that's what stops most people from getting anywhere...the disciple and respect and power and control that actual martial artist have comes from doing the things that ARE work everyday until they enjoy it, you learn those things and gain the benifits by doing it...of course its long and tedious if it was easy everyone would be doing it...you have to learn to control yourself before you can learn to control others...you got bored

Why so defensive? That's funny coming from the likes of you

You've confirmed the answer already.

Ah, then it wasnt TaijiOriginally posted by treelizardForgive me for trying to find an art that was less boring.
And the taiji I learned didn't exactly seem martial...

See you'd think so, but rather that is my battle plans....Originally posted by BoarSpearAh but i can flick marbles at you, your training will force you to scoop 'em all up with your mouth...VERY distracting to your battle plans
If the person doesnt throw marbles at me... I chomp the air until they run away!
There is also the stealth and attack portions of Hip Hun Po Gar, stemming from the hippo's renowned stealth attacks, making it the most dangerous (to humans) animal in africa.
I harness that immense hippo power, my marble gulping skills are unequaled.
(Last bit leaves me open to SOoooooooooooooooooooo many jokes.. oh well)

I know but I learned it from him.Originally posted by BoarSpearCohen didnt invent bone marrow washing

I don't do qi gong just warmups to get it flowing. I don't want to cultivate more qi anyway, because in my experience what it does is just make my imbalances more exaggerated. Great...Originally posted by BoarSpearFunny you do all that esoteric "energy" work but you dont practice Taiji which IS an energy transfer system...chi kung cultivates Chi, it doesnt teach you to control and move it.
