Because this thread is about Bruce Lee and his Jeet Kune Do. I don't hink Bruce is fictional he was alive, he did made many good movies, he did popularize wing chun, he did introduce kung fu to the world and he did died too, so Bruce Lee is a real person just like MJ or GB they are real people not fiction.

right on the money mike! bruce hurt his back pretty bad and was bed ridden for many months (incidently thats when he wrote "Tao of Jeet Kune Do") after which he was prescribed the pain killer equagseric ......people close to him noticed while he was making Enter The Dragon his weight began to suddenly drop going from a normal 140 or so to 125lbs.... the rest with the brain edema is history....or so they say. one will never know but you gotta shake your head at the untimely death of his son brandon at the same point in their acting careers.....coincidence? my gut says no ....the facts say yes.......either way there will never be another like him in our lives.Originally posted by Mike BrewerAnother opinion might be that he died of a brain edema resulting from an alergic reaction to a medication called Equagesic...

yikes.....ill give you a shovel to dig a hole for yourself and help you take the foot out of your mouth while your at it!!! no offence but im not sure youve educated yourself on this subject enough......as for calisthenics? YES you will grow some size from them...without a doubt but its very short lived and you grow to a point....unless.....you add weight to your calisthenics.....then......they become more like weight training or resistance training..........as for mass? ....if you ever wanna be a proficient fighter stay away from mass building and look to things like power lifting , plyometrics and isometrics as well as sport specific training......in otherwords if you wanna punch harder and faster then punch MORE......this is how we develop punching muscles ...same with grappling and so on and so forth...as for bruce lee at the end of his career he looked to weight training to "Supplement" his already proficient regime realizing there was some truth to resistance training and power for explosive performance not too mention he was insecure about his weight and wanted to put some size on (probably so he could hit harder....ouch) can we put a nail in this coffin now????????????????????Originally posted by konghanIn that case, he did died of over exhuastion then. Over train, busy with work, busy with social life.

It does not matter how technical or scientific you train, age is the biggest factor. So as is the circle of life, maximum energy & growth between ages 17 - 24, between 25 -32 things start to stabilized, between 33 - 45 things start to slow down, between 46 - 57 no more room to expand.......58+ slowly regression start.Originally posted by georgieyikes.....ill give you a shovel to dig a hole for yourself and help you take the foot out of your mouth while your at it!!! no offence but im not sure youve educated yourself on this subject enough......as for calisthenics? Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Sugar Rey Leonard, .....etc. are clear examples that age does matter. Boxers who gain weight find it difficult to improve or maintain their prime boxing skills at the same time boxers who try to reduce or get back their weight affects their boxing skill as well and it is always in the negative.Originally posted by georgie.............................................
That is why professional athletes had to retire usually at age 40 and many of them who want to continue had to take steroids to stay athletic.
Bruce base on information available to the public, he is obssess, he is seeking some form of martial immortality the one invincible martial art that does not exist and it cost him his life.
The immortality, was his legacy that live on and will continue to live on on peoples life.

I understand what you all mean
One other factor not looked at is oxygen intake, proper intake burns fat fast.
Combined with the excercises its very important to pay attention to your breathing. Can you punch being out of breath? its hard. Stamina adds to your strenght as well because of teh increase of muscle use of oxygen. Adding to the proper effective use of the body part, not partial but full use. Take care

Awesome point! Also can you take a punch being out of breath? That's one of the two kinds of KOs.Originally posted by ecamd1025One other factor not looked at is oxygen intake, proper intake burns fat fast.
