  • It sounds like the KF guy was allowed to poke the eyes since the MMA guy was instructed:"Watch the eyes"

    To get on topic

seems that now that strikers learn how to grapple and avoid the takedown, the standup game is returning
the advantage slides to the strikers again and even if the grablers learn how to strike the advantage might stay because as long as the takedown can be prevented the grapler will not enter his game
Only if they can strike as good as a striker will the advantage slide back again
At that time the strikers will have to make their grablingskills as good as the grabler's and then we can no longer speak of graplers and strikers, just All Round Martial Artists ( like MA used to be)

      EXACTLY!

Thats why i love the saying "90% of fights end up on the ground
      but 100% start standing"

And yes, there were no rules in that fight, gouges, biting etc
The kung fu just got owned, no excuses

as what i said before, Bruce Lee really fooled you, and you are born to be fooled too.......

Bruce Lee's Movie Martial Art is Jeet Kune Do while his Actual Street Fight is WingChun and other KungFu's.... that is the reason why of all faces of Bruce Lee that you see in his VCD Documentaries and VCD Instructional Movies = the only thing that comes to his mouth is only KungFu, KungFu and only KungFu or Chinese Boxing

        Note:
Even Jeet Kune Do is classified as a Modified WingChun (revised wingchun)

You stupid, until now you are still stupid

I just have 3 questions for you,
1.Have you ever had a street fight?
            2. Have you ever fought a grappler?
3.What is your win/loss ratio in street fights?

Just knowing the answers to these questions will explain all of your posts.
            1. During my HighSchool Years, I have few experiences engaged in a streetfight when my art before is also Okinawan Shoring Ryu Karate, and my opponent from other Karate Schools, most of them are black belts thats why most of them are trouble makers..... and the ratio of hit is 50:50 (were both have black eyes, and i can say that - there's no win and there's no lose) most of the fights is all strength versus strength

but after i started learning KungFu, the more i learned the more i have patience...... and i insist that i never had fights when someone questions me....

i cant accept what happened to me past..... a shit kind of karate....

            Note:
but here in the Philippines - Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate is the most effective type of Karate versus other types of Karate Category

i have plenty of experience watching my best friends actual streetfights martial arts versus martial arts that's the reason why i hate to see their ratios - its a 50:50. mostly, both of the fighters have an equal black eyes, have an equal pains and hits..... and that is bullshit, for me, it is no longer a kind of martial arts...... I am frequently present when theres a streetfight, as i always observed about the hit ratio....... that is my favorite......

            2. I have never have been experience in a non-kungfu grappling fight/sparring..... but in our KungFu, we have more grappling too but not that kind of grappling that i see in UFC, the grappling that i see in UFC is all basic.....

Tai Chi Chaun have more grappling moves too....
Ngo Cho Kung have more grappling moves too.....

            3. The day that i learned KungFu, i never engaged anymore in a streetfight cause the more advance you learned kungfu the more you have patience to avoid a fight during confrontation.....

thus.... "To fight and win a thousand of battles is no good, it is better to win a combat without fighting"

First off, i'm glad you answered.
                OK now......

                1. LOL ......black belts in high school, now i understand the calibre of
fighters you are up against...... oh , and um school fights aren't street fights.

2.I thought so, and no they aren't more advanced, grappling and BJJ have just simplified them and made them more efficient.

3.Doesn't answer my question. You are in some fairy land where you think that if you dont want trouble, it will never happen.

By you answering these questions, i have read you like a book.
I won't waste my time on ignorant "kung fu masters"

then tell me if what is the difference between a FULL CONTACT SPARRING and an ACTUAL STREET FIGHT (not those of high school fights)????

(since either FULL CONTACT SPARRING or ACTUAL STREET FIGHT ...... both of them the fight engaged in 2hands, 2feet, 1head versus 2hands, 2feet, 1head)

I refuse to believe that you don't know the difference, but it is basically intent and outcome. The intent of sparring (whatever level of contact) is practice with someone you know or know of to sharpen skill, and the intent of a fight is to injure maim or kill. The outcome for sparring maybe some bruises, but it is training. The outcome for fighting can be jail, and again serious injury or death.

Really, all I heard him say is that wing chun and other tradtional martial arts is too restricting. He figured this out after getting in a real fight with his wing chun. In his movies I have seen him do moves that are not part of wing chun. Its kind of strange but I also heard he went off and trained boxing, judo, and a few grappling arts. Guess it is all just rumors.

                        • Street fighting? The one major problem with the martial arts I've seen is that they're too forgiving. Maybe that's just the practitioners..... but they're just not brutal enough. Like a few weeks ago i was walking to my friends house at around 1 or 2. Dark road... pretty creepy. When i see these three guys walking towards me. I just thought they were walking the other way. Boy was i wrong. Well oone came up and asked for a smoke... so i gave him one... then just started talking... obviously drunk.... and i knew something was gonna go down.... and all of a sudden all casually he started to reach behind is back....
And well... hate to say it... I was outnumbered... so i just full on toe kicked him in the nuts.... then rushed his 2 friends... they didn't know what hit them...
Now... i don't really know if that was honorable or anything... but there was no way i could outrun them,.... and 3 on 1... don't like those odds for anyone....
My point is call fighting whatever you like... the guy who's willing to do whatever it takes will most of the time will win....

                              a fight of 3 versus 1??????

in boxing, that 1person cannot defeat those 3 opponents, why?????

cause it takes at least 12 rounds for you to defeat only 1 opponent, how about if your opponent is 3 of them?????

                              then 3 opponents x 12 rounds = 36 rounds

the fight will reach up to 36 rounds before you can finish those 3 opponents of yours while you are only one......

                              western boxing is stupid!!!!!!!!
