  • STEROIDS!?! How dangerous ARE they??

    Hey Guys

Ok, I've heard all the media hype, the "possible side effects" and all the rest that we've heard a thousand times on television and in magazines regarding steroids.
I've been working in a gym for a while now and I now know ALOT of buddies who are on the juice. subsequently, I've heard lot from them. In addition, I've done alot of research on the net.
The thing is this: I've known a decent amount of people who have said "I used to use them, for a little while. I gained about 20-25 pounds, kept about 15-20 of it." All these people are still lifting and in goosd shape, but their size came from the juice. They all appear to be fine.
Also, the amount of professional atheletes who perhaps are not on them now, but at some point WERE on them, is VERY high. Sure, side effects are possible, but compared to the amount of people who use them for perhaps one 10 week cycle, is it really that high? Are roids, specifically the ones which appear to have less side effects such as Systanon (spelling), victims to an extent of the media??
    (as Ephedra is becoming now)
I'd like experiences specifically...and opinions of those who have either tried them or know very well what I am asking about.

    No personal experience

I don't have any personal experience with steroids, but if you haven't seen T-mag, they have literally hundreds of real steroid user testimonials as well as hundreds of juice-related articles, etc.

Also some phenomenal training articles and supplements.

    Hope this helps,

Yeah, McLeod is currently researching them before he tries his first cycle. Man, I didn't think the 98 degrees look and steroids went together. Be sure to take before and after pics. LOL.

You will get different answers depending on who you ask. I have never used the anabolic type (prednisone doesn't qualify ), but in my honest opinion- as with any drug, proper use is mandatory! As with any drug, you will be f*cked if you don't know what your doing. But if you know what exactly you're doing, I don't think there are really any long term negative effects when used properly. Good luck

            Here's my opinion...

You don't need them. You can get the same effects from the right diet and some some healthy legal supplement. Real roids would probably just speed up the process. And dangerously. You shouldn't take short cuts like that in my opinion....

              So, Ober:

I KNOW you have to have some stories on the subject.
              Friends? Co-workers?
Anyone else? It's hard to believe that 70 some people involved in MMA have read this and noone knows anything interesting about the subject.
Ian? I'd be interested in hearing what the machine has learned from his involvement with other MMA fighters.. etc.
              thanks

                Ok, been there, done that.

First, FORGET the myth that with proper nutrition and training you would obtain the same results of doping. NO WAY.

Second, steroids are pretty safe drugs IF you spend a lot of time knowing them. So if you are serious about them study and stdy alot.

Assuming that you now have the knowledge about the subject, you may start experimenting with them and keep track of results in order to gain experience. After awhile you will have a first-hand knowledge of the effects in relation to your bodytipe and hormonal makeup.

This will have a price. Before using them you will absolutely not know what types of receptors you'll have, so you may have zero effects with all sort of collateral shit or gain a ton of muscles without even a zit.

The risk for me is comparable to stepping in a cage or in a ring. You may have all the knowledge and training of the worl but if you don't try the real thing you'll never know if you are fit for it. In the process you may risk alot, it depends on how bad you want what you want.

Speaking for experience I've used Anavar, sustanon 250, decadurabolin, andriol and some primobolan (not all at once, obviously). I did pretty low dosages and for short periods of times (max 6 weeks). I've had great results with all, but keep in mind that my goal was only to retain my muscle while dieting very hard. They helped me to obtain 5%bodyfat at 180 lbs. The real shortcomings for me where an accelleration in the balding process (that started long time ago btw...) and in feeling REALLY weak and depressed once stopping a cycle based on testosterones.

                Are they worth it?

Only you can answer that, for me hugeness means nothing; I'm muscolar by nature, but walking down the beach with shredded abs it's great...

For MMA they permit you to train to insane levels, but for the fight they count for little. Strenght is only a variable in the great combat equation.

                Hope it helps.

McCleod, are you going to be competing in bodybuilding comps?

If you're not as huge as you can be sans steroids then taking steroids is like having liposuction when you're a complete fat ass. My two cents is that you should buck up and train your ass off, eat like a champ, suck down as many supps as you can and then see what happens after a few years. Already done that? Then you're probably a big dude already and what do you need with the 'roids.

                  just say no to drugs

gewt in shape before you juice, dam good shape.have a well determined workout plan for when you get off.Roids are wonderful if done right, including the pre roid and opost roid training.Doen wrong, roids can be useless for long term gains
Be especially careful about your joints,as connective tissue gets stronger a lot slower than muscle. When you roid, you make such great gains(if youre already in shape) that its easy to injure yourself

Try to get some "Sustanon 250". The mixture of the testosterones are time-released to provide an immediate effect while still remaining active in the body for up to a month. As with other testosterones, Sustanon is an androgenic steroid with a pronounced anabolic effect. Therefore, athletes commonly use Sustanon to put on mass and size while increasing strength. However, unlike other testosterone compounds such as cypionate and enanthate, the use of Sustanon leads to less water retention and estrogenic side effects. This characteristic is extremely beneficial to bodybuilders who suffer from gynecomastia yet still seek the powerful anabolic effect of an injectable testosterone. The decreased water retention also makes Sustanon a desirable steroid for bodybuilders and athletes interested in cutting up or building a solid foundation of quality mass. Dosages of Sustanon range from 250 mg every other week, up to 2000 mg or more per week. These dosages seem to be the extremes. A more common dosage would range from 250 mg to 1000 mg per week. Although Sustanon remains active for up to a month, injections should be taken at least once a week to keep testosterone levels stable. A steroid novice can expect to gain about 20 pounds within a couple of months by using only 250 mg of Sustanon a week. More advanced athletes will obviously need higher dosages to obtain the desired effect. Sustanon is a fairly safe steroid, but in high dosages, some athletes may experience side effects due to an elevated estrogen level. With dosages exceeding 1000 mg a week, it is probably wise to use an antiestrogen such as Nolvadex (tamoxifen citrate) or Proviron (mesterolone). The use of Sustanon will suppress natural testosterone production, so the use of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) or Clomid (clomiphene citrate) may be appropriate at the end of a cycle. Sustanon 250 is a good base steroid to use in a stack. Athletes interested in rapid size and strength gains find that Sustanon stacks extremely well with orals such as Anadrol (oxymetholone) and Dianabol (methandrostenlone). On the other hand, Sustanon also stacks well with Parabolan (trenbolone hexahydrobencylcarbonate), Masteron (drostanolone propionate), and Winstrol (stanozolol) for athletes seeking the hard, ripped look. Sustanon 250 is quite abundant on the US black market. One of the more common versions is the Russian Sustanon 250 manufactured in India. Thousands of these amps are smuggled into the East Coast of the United States where they are then made readily available to bodybuilders. Average price is around $15-$20 an amp, but prices as low as $5 an amp are available to some individuals who can purchase the amps as soon as they come ashore. The Russian Sustanon comes in plastic strips of five covered with a white paper and imprinted with blue ink. More recent lots of Russia Sustanon have the expiration date printed numerous times in purple ink going lengthwise in a line across the strip of five ampules. The ampules have a white paper label imprinted with blue ink. Don't be surprised if the labels are crooked or peel off easily. The labels on Russian Sustanon are commonly glued on crooked, and should peel off, but not in one piece. Also, don't be alarmed if the amps come loose without the plastic strip. The plastic strip is often thrown away to make it easier to smuggle the amps into the country. There is little need to worry about the legitimacy of Russian Sustanon. Another popular version of Sustanon is the Sostenon 250 rediject manufactured by Organon in Mexico. The redijects are very common to the southern region of the United States because they are frequently smuggled over the border after being purchased in Mexican pharmacies. The price for a Sostenon rediject is about $8 in Mexico. In the United States, they are often sold for $20 a piece. Each Sostenon 250 rediject comes packaged in a plastic tray with a foil covering. The World Anabolic Review shows a picture of a rediject with the needle attached. This picture is outdated because Organon recently began manufacturing the Sostenon 250 redijects without the needle attached. The redijects are often favored by many because of their difficulty to counterfeit. However, recently, bodybuilders have complained about some underdosed redijects circulating on the black market in Texas. Fortunately, these underdosed redijects do not seem to be widespread. In the meantime, the chances of getting a fake rediject are still very slim. Less common, but still seen on the US black market are the European versions of Sustanon from countries like Italy, Portugal, and England. All of these amps are scored and have a white label that is difficult to peel off. The amps and boxes should have the lot number and expiration dated stamped on it.

                        Hmm this is interesting.
I have never used a drug, never experimented in the "stereotypical" views of teens and stuff when I was in High School, etc.

...but to be honest, the only drug I ever considered taking was steroids. I didn't take them, but must say I know little about them, so I don't have much to say here. I know what people say, etc.
I was on creatine for a while, but didn't get spectacular results. I'm a relatively short guy. I'm 5'8. I weight 180 now, have a pretty thick neck, shoulders, delts, and a large chest. So I feel somewhat big...(I have a bit of fat on my belly which I hate! ) But I think for my height I'm at maybe the best muscular size for right now. At least I'm content at this point. But I relate with wanting size...
I want to live to enjoy it though

                          McLeod: Perhaps Email me.

There are a few things that others have said that I agree somewhat with, and a lot of misinformation and things I disagree with as well.

(Eg: joshbcool's esp. "However, unlike other testosterone compounds such as cypionate and enanthate, the use of Sustanon leads to less water retention and estrogenic side effects. " -Sustenon is a blend of 4 different esters of testosterone, including cypionate and enanthate. Testosterone is testosterone. It gets metabolized in the same manner and has the same anabolic/androgenic effect. All an ester does is affect the half life; how quickly it breaks down into a useable form. With proper dosage & timing, one could mimic the effects of sustenon with the non-blended single esters, at a greatly reduced price. There are other errors; this was just an example)

                            Impressive to say the least!

I once called Underdog "a walking drugstore", but now I stand to be corrected.

I just can't compete with the doctors on the forum. LOL.

                              One thing though.....

see a licenced DOCTOR if you're considering anabolic steroids. Don't get into having "just a guy in the gym" inject you in the washroom stall! This practise is very dangerous. A licenced doctor knows the amounts, and exactly where to inject the drug - as well, he can monitor your progress and cycles.
As well, which I'm sure a doctor will tell you, the injectable kinds are the best to take because once injected into the fatty tissues, they get absorbed at a higher rate than the oral kind, and the orals can give you problems with your stomach (digestive system), especially if you are ingesting amounts that are considered "higher than average" (of one kind, or "stacking").
Again, ask a doctor for his advice.

                              Ronnie.
