    LOL You fail again.

One 'year' would be the correct form in delineating items or as used in a reduced prepositional phrase.

If you wanted to use it as a possessive in the way you are now trying to spin it, you would need an apostrophe, moron.

    So respond to it then.
    Step up to the plate.
I'm offering you the chance to contest your standpoint against someone with different life experience, and a partially opposing view.
I'm suggesting that's done between two older-gen MA people, in a mature manner.

Of course, if you're unable, feel free to say so at any time.

All I can say if you don't, is that I for one, will not be taking any further forum input from you as seriously as I have in the past.

    Attn Bri Thai.
    You seem to have missed all this, which was addressed to you;

Maybe not entirely your fault if nobody explained Chi Sau to you.
What could be more useful in clinch or grappling than a heightened awareness of your opponent and their options, through touch alone?

To me, the base problem with all these style vs style threads is the assumption that styles are blueprints you can map over people and turn them into fighters.

If you look at all the top MA people in the world, they're all people who take what they need, and forget about the rest.
Different people, different needs, different things taken.

    e.g.

All this theorizing means zip when you are about to get your clock cleaned.

P.S. For the record. I AM NOT A WING CHUN GUY!
It just happens to be one of many things I train or have trained in.

This kind of statement is a clear sign of a theory-boy who has never actually been put to the test. The whole "it" works nonsense, as if the 'art' magically does the fighting for you, is pure BS.

Thai bri...i have trained in my precious wing chun for the last 11 years...have needed to use it a few times...it's NEVER let me down...i am also a judoka...i realised that if i am taken to the ground that wingchun ain't so clever...just like muay thai...but i also know that once in close wing chun is one of the best styles out there...take a look at kevin chan or emin boztepe...sam kwok or james sinclair...i think that you have seen some half baked wingchun and assumed that it's all like that...oh dear

If it’s the language of your country, you might want to take the time to actually learn it, moron.

Actually each style is not just as good as the other. That is just naive crap that is always pumped out by those people from the poor syles. Like you.

Firstly you have to define what the goals of the particular styles are. If it is "art" or Kata Competition, or self protection, then each style will score differently depending on the goal.

Yes, different people will perform better than others, and some people from shite styles may well overcome the lesser able ones from better styles. But so what? Those original folk would do EVEN BETTER at a good style.

Thanks to the guys here who supported me. Brought a tear t my eyes.... - And, in all fairness, I do like the muppets!

PETRIE. Deep down in the back of your head there is a voice of doubt about your precious Wing Chun. But you suppress it, partly because you find the training relatively easy (and you don't want to have to work too hard), and partly because you find security from the day dream that you are learning how to protect yourself.

But, like I said, deep down you doubt its value. Trust your instincts little fellah, and have the courage to walk into the local BJJ, Judo, Boxing or Thai Boxing class. Better still, go in and tell them that you will use Wing Chun to show them how it is done in a fight.... Let us all know what happens.

I think I know already though......
