i didnt say walk around the neighborhood with them, they were suggestions for items that could be placed in your classroom that could double as last ditch weapon in case a student tried to harm you.

what if it breaks and injures your hand??? now you have to fight off an attacker with a sliced up hand.

I'm not worried about students trying to harm me. I'm worried about my students getting home safely. Now they want to change the schedule for high schools and middle schools because too many high school dropouts are blaming it on being late for their first class. Instead, we'll have 11-year old girls waiting for the bus in the winter when it's still dark out.

Aye, girls are scary...no bite inhibition...

in a transcendent way, of course...

Without details I can't really comment except to say perhaps they didn't understand your METT-T.

they are really vicious... guys are a lot quicker to get into fights but girls are harder to break up for some reason

It was the newer, more inhibitive acronym in that particular situation, though: METT-TC
The ever so critical C, that changes everything, too many variables and rules, you need a damned lawyer on hand at all times, at least they make great shields.

I don't understand why that's even an issue. For one, if you aren't willing to kill someone with a weapon, be it a gun or knife, don't train for it. Use your hands to incapacitate them. Why are you asking whether or not it's ethical to use a weapon you've been trained to use? Sounds like a waste of time training for something you morally object to.
