I don't mind the woman to attack the vitals, so long as its the hip to pelvis kind...

Guest repliedHey, you said "attack the vitals" , it looks like you almost agree with me there.Originally posted by Ben Grimm View PostShe is. She's not afraid to attack the vitals either. This happened in front of me btw, now I wanted to beat the shit out of him, but my wife did something better. She let him get close (I was at boiling point then), then my wife just slammed her knee between his legs and dropped him like a sack of shit. Guest repliedLOL, that's funny. My wife also is not that interested in Martial arts, but she is a fitness instructor and respects the training aspect.Originally posted by Hardball View PostMan my wife is a wuss. I saw the same thing once back home. The size difference wasn't as large, but the bigger girl howled in pain like a dog afterwards.

Telling the teacher is the best advice. However, I'd still teach her to secure a fistful of hair and either rollout or do a face-fall. That would change the big girl's mind quick and in a hurry.Originally posted by Hardball View PostI just got a call last night. One of my students has a 11 year old daughter. She weighs 80 pounds. Apparently she is being bullied by a girl weighing almost 3 times her weight (240lbs). He want's me to show his daughter how to handle herself.

Really, I can't really think of anything that she can learn quick and dirty that would help in the above scenario. I suggested telling the teacher. He wants to bring her to his private lesson.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

A handful of salt thrown in her eyes will do the trick nicely too!

I don't think it's that she's so prissy, Hardball. City girls are usually tougher in terms of violence, just not nature. If that same spider or mouse posed a danger to one of your kids then I can almost guarantee that the primal instinct of all mothers would have come out and she would have reacted in a manner that would have even surprised your wife herself.Originally posted by Hardball View PostMan my wife is a wuss. If I wake her out of her sleep the wrong way she wakes up in terror. I admire woman who train in martial arts and who can handle a firearm. Why just today, the cat caught a mouse while I was at work and she was too afraid to sweep it up and throw it out. LOL. If she sees a spider she goes into convulsions. She's a stone cold city girl. If I could teach her courage I would. Besides, Martial artists need some degree of athleticisim and motivation. My wife is just not interested. I guess that's why they say opposites attract.

Its all about understanding the NECCESITY of certain actions and the detriment of hesitation. She might hesitate if she realizes that a mouse isn't dangerous and you're home to take care of it, but let someone who she loves be in harms way and can't protect themselves and something will awaken in her. Those are the kinds of scenarios you have to introduce to get her in that frame of mind. You have to almost play that game with her over and over to keep that protective spirit alive.

Drills that introduce the element of fear while using personal emotions like love for a family member or close friend first serve to awaken that you have a warrior spirit, then with constant practice serve to basically desensitize your sensibilities to the actual violence that is about to ensue. Its the ability to take the initiative that determines who gets the violence of first, fast and hard.

You want to awaken your wife's spirit? Get some protective gear(including a cup), get your child out in the backyard, and then ask her to demonstrate what she would do if some strange man started pushing and pulling on your kid if just those two were alone at that park. She may not respond the way you want at first, but let your kid know that Daddy is going to "play pretend" to rough them up. You know ... play fight. See if you can't get a rise out of her. Once you do and if she did well then you might only have finer points to teach. If she goes into a girly-slap fight panic attack then you should applaud her conviction but teach her how to channel that same energy into more productive gross motor methods.

Once you have her outside make it about wanting to make sure that if anything ever happened to her and little so and so she'd be able to protect him/her, escape and call the police and THEN you.
