Only catholics believe the pope to be infallible. There is no direct doctrinal support for such a belief. In fact the whole basis of the pope comes down to a conversation in the bible regarding jesus and peter. In that quote some ambiguity exists on whether Jesus church was to be based on Peter or on Christ's message.

I was referring to Catholics in particular. I mean you can't put the Protestants and Catholics together when discussing an issue like this because their belief systems are very much in opposition...at least different enough that they are still trying to come to an antithesis on God's message by butchering each other.

Ok, I agree with that. Atheism has no theology or doctrines. It is the simple belief that there is no god and no afterlife. Atheism is not a religion, has no doctrines, or rules, nor a standardized set of ethical guidelines to abide by.
